Android 10

2019-12-29, 2:05 AM

December is about to end still waiting for December 2019 security update for Moto One Action. I don't know when I'll get Android 10 for this device. Motorola very slow in terms of update.

Re:Android 10

To continue this thread, it is February 21, 2020 and what we have by now:

  • Android 10 is available in Russia, Croatia and UK
  • Android 10 is available in some Latin American countries
  • Android 10 is NOT available in those EU countries who decided not to Brexit
  • Android 10 is NOT available in other European countries.
  • Android 10 is NOT available in the USA and perhaps in Asia, etc.

Also:

These handsets that have not received Android 10, have security updates from December.

So let us see if this Android One device is able to get the January security updates in February or will there be a longer pause.

Oh and please do feel free to correct me if instead of using the politically uncorrect words "Android 10" you feel that words "certain software" could be more appropriate.

One thing I don't quite understand... Moto Vision is almost identical in terms of hardware. And it got the Android 10 update for RETEU a while ago. Why is it that the one for Moto Action is still not launched? What's going on?

This is the question but the longer they wait with answering the more sceptical people become.

January passed without update

February is soon over - with no update and no security update

It is almost as if the product is dead - 2 months is quite a big part of the product's lifespan

It looks like they have too few people for too many devices and only they know if this is somehow connected to what is going on in China (outsourcing programming used to be beneficial - is it anymore, I do not know).

Maybe... This is where that schedule I proposed to have a while ago would have probably come in very handy... You can just say: delayed due to...whatever the reason. It's not gonna help with the actual update. It won't bring it any faster. But at least we would know what's going on. I want to believe there's a reason why this is happening. Probably a good reason. But...we just don't know it.

I understand that people are gonna express their opinion either way. And some of them will probably be a lot less understanding than we are. But is it really keeping people in the dark with no information whatsoever better than having at least some sort of information...? I don't know...

I feel like the lack of communication and transparency to the users is more annoying than the lack of the actual update. :))) Just my opinion, of course.

So far, this is my only complaint with this phone. Yes, the software is not perfect. Yes, there are bugs. But I'm the kind of guy who really appreciates it when manufacturers are open about their stuff.

Can anyone hot on the update triggerfinger confirm that volte and vowifi works after this Android 10 update?

Edit: Sorry, found a post that mentioned problems with this update. Definitely won't install/brick.
