Re:Android 11 update

2021-10-18, 8:27 AM

I know that this is the Android 11 update thread - but to clearify my humble opinion:

1.) The promised Android 11 update was part of the product pacjage when I purchased the Phone last xear (in Germany it is clearly marketed and branded "Android one").
2.) More important for me: Android one includes 3 years of monthly (!!!) security updates - also part of what I bought.
3.) While I can fully understand, that there can be delays in software development and roll-out, I expect at least some open communication from tzhe manufacturer: There is a problem, we think there will be a delay by xxx days/week/months, we appologize. I would think that simply respect for the own customewrs would lead a manufacturer to this communication. What we get instead: we will supply some update "when it is required" or "when we think it is appropriate" or "we try our best".
4.) At the same time I am receiving newsletters from  Motorola on a monthly basis, introducing new phones, push messages promoting "special deals" - Hello Moto, how stupid do you think your customers are?
5.) Would I have known about this in advance, I could have bought a phone with much better hardware, similar (no-)service level at half of the price I paid for the Moto.

So, no difference if Android 11 is better or even worse than Android 10, no matter if monthly security updates are neccessary or not: I bought those together with the Moto hardware and I am within the 2 year (in Europe) waranty period - so guesss what: I will wait until end of this month and if there is no, Abdoid 11, no security patch, no communication I will file a warranty case with my distributor - not with Moto. I have all the prove that I the product I purchased has a manufacturing defect, as the manufacturer is not providing the contractual promised and in the product catalogue discription promised update service. So let them fight with Motorola as probably those big guys a respected a little bit more than the stupid end consumer...

Needless to say: This definitely was the last Motoroal / Lenovo product I ever purchased.

Last note: This is Nothing against the Agents in this forum. You poor guys have to deal with the unrespectful policy of your employer and you are getting the kicks from both sides...

I can understand that the system update has been postponed by a month or even three months, but not more than a hell of a year since the release of the system, where Android 12 is already being implemented. This is a disrespect for customers who trust the brand.

If I am not able to offer another android 11 operating system I had to release a monthly update for android 10. Older phone models leave them  without an update. Amateurs and crooks bigger than Lenovo I have never seen any manufacturer lie like Lenovo lies

@equilibriumer

I also have download the A11 package from mirrors.lolinet.com (Q1-48-36-11 and Q1-48-36-13)

Did your steps to update include "fastboot erase userdata" or did work without clearing userdata ?

I'm willing to flash but I don't wnat to loose my data/settings.

Thanks,

Thomas

On the motorola website it appears that there is already an update for motorola one action and for the month of October. Why haven't we in Romania received an update since July 2021? Lenovo Chinese garbage I will never buy Lenovo filth in my life

There is supposedly RSB31.Q1-48-36-13 software version for Motorola One Action. Even when it came late (about the end of September). Which is more than 45 days which Android One program promise/require. It isn't distributed by OTA as fast as it should. :(

It's October 21st and we still haven't received an update, apparently the Chinese from Lenovo are no longer going to keep their promise with android one. Motorola one action I think will not receive an update from now on probably was abandoned by these scammers who had to comply with the android one program for three years with monthly update

Calm down :) Sadly I think it's time to understand that Action will not get any more update and that actually, in August 2021 there were 2 years of updates. Maybe that's the end of updates? That's what I guess. Unbelievable is just that some really got Android 11.
