Yes switching to 5ghz work.

I managed to.contact the lady to which I sold the faulty one. She has the issue on 2.4ghz but is using 5ghz router and no issue present with this type.of network.

Router used Asus RtN56u b1.

Tom,

Rt n56u is a Ralink Cpu powered, so also on this Cpu the symptom is present.

Please kindly push sw team to.release fix asap.

Not eberybody will buy 5ghz router, instead they will buy other brand of smartphone and is shame since the phone ia running nice and smooth when not affected by this.

Thanks for confirming that 5GHz is better. I know people aren't likely to go buy new routers, I was offering it as a workaround (if possible) for users. The improvements are coming, I just don't have timing currently.

Switching to 5GHz is not a solution, I am buying a phone and expects it to be fine in the basic 2.4 GHz band too. What a miracle of technology to change the router specifically for the phone - a misunderstanding. Motorola, fix it if you can, and if not, let me know too - I will change the phone model because with a 1 Mb / s connection it is impossible to function normally.

I agree too.

I have only one 5ghz router in my house but 99% places operate only 2.4ghz routers.

I do not have choice to switch phone until next year, but if this problem happened to flag ship model the problem would be solved pretty fast.

But  jerry rig everything said if you buy the flagship model you are screwed for 2 or more years but if you bought midrange you are screwed for a year max.

Rolling up update for software are expensive ( not counting the security patches ) and i do not think it will happen fast.

But i really was surprised that the moderators acknowledge the problem.

All, as I have already stated we are going to have software improvements coming to help with 2.4Ghz. I never said switching to 5Ghz was a solution. I mentioned it was a workaround that could be used (if possible) for some users.

Just received security update for october 2020 guess how long it took to update the firmware with security patch. Well i think 56k modem from 1999 would download the patch faster

And there is no change to wi fi issue.

Horrible experience using this phone for 6 months

The recent update was just a security update. The improvements will be coming in an OS update. Sorry, wish I had more on the timing, but that's all I got.
