Where is located the NFC Chip Reader on a Moto One Action

2021-07-04, 1:23 AM

Hi,

Where is located the NFC Chip on a Moto One Action.

I have sticked a piece of metal on the back of my phone right below Finger Print Reader ?

Could it cause a problem with the NFC reader of my phone ?

Thanks

Hi Gypse

Can't tell exactly where the NFC is located at the back of the phone, but I can ask around. Usually, this shouldn't cause any issues. May I know what accessory are you using? Thanks.

Best regards,
Rich

Inspired by my question about using a magnetic mount for my phone, I have been searching for more information.

I have found a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBDuLuuwv5c) of a teardown for repair of the One Action.

You can see that the lower half is all battery, power port, speaker, mic.  The upper half is all of the rest.

Although I do not use NFC I would feel confident that the metal plate I placed over the area of the battery would not interfere with it, if I use it.

It is in about the middle of the device. I use it a lot to charge prepaid transit cards and for google pay. And yes, any metal layer will act as an RFID blocking shield.
