Guide : How to Re-Lock Moto One Fusion + Bootloader (With Pictures)

2021-03-23, 8:51 AM

Hey Guys, today I'll share how to Re-Lock your bootloader incase you've unlocked it , or you want to save your phone from a bootloop or revert your phone back to stock.

Basically, you can rescue a bricked phone too

I have a Suggestion for every Moto User that you should download Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant and set it up by logging in with lenovo ID and registering your phone amd downloading the latest firmware prior to unlocking bootloader or flashing custom ROMs because if you screw something up , you wouldn't end up with a paper weight, Motorola and Lenovo have done a great job by developing this tool that allows you to flash Motorola Signed original Stock ROM which allows bootloader to be locked and enables verified boot

1) If you are on Stock Moto ROM

     - Download Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant               from the link below:

            https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/downloads/ds101291

    - Open LMSA software and Login using                  lenovo ID and connect you phone using                USB cable in "Power Off" state

   - Click on Rescue option as shown in Picture 1

And then click on Power Off Mode

   - It will detect your phone automatically and         ask to download the Original Firmware and it       will Flash it

   - After Flashing Completes, boot your phone         and Turn on USB debugging from developer's       options

  - Connect your phone again and open ADB

( In case you don't know what is ADB you                haven't unlocked your bootloader and this is        not for you)

  - Enter the Following command in ADB

     adb reboot bootloader

  - When phone reboots to bootloader, enter the     following command

     fastboot flashing lock

A confirmation message will appear on your device, select yes

  - If that doesn't work, first try

    fastboot reboot fastboot

    and then

    fastboot flashing lock

Now your bootloader is Locked and Verified          Boot has been enabled again, Congratulations

Now go to Developer Options and disable OEM    unlocking

2) If you are on Any other Custom ROM

     - First Download this File on your PC from             the link below

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o7b0OxgyJ8JpDehVeg_TmdJydokBmBdO/view

   - Follow these steps in the second uploaded         picture you'll find below

   - After you Boot up follow these steps:

  - If that doesn't work, first try

    fastboot reboot fastboot

    and then

    fastboot flashing lock

Now your bootloader is Locked and Verified          Boot has been enabled again, Congratulations

Now go to Developer Options and disable OEM    unlocking

Remember: This will not bring back the                  warranty you voided when you unlocked the        bootloader, this is just to make sure you Re-        Lock your device after you want to go back to      stock since this enables verified boot again          and ensures your phone is safe and free from      any malware

Have a Nice Day, 😊

( In case you end up in some problem, feel free to ask in replies, I'll answer in 48 hours)

Do you know the difference to "fastboot oem lock" that is mentioned here? --> https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images#

@Hans Dampf

fastboot oem lock
is a similar command to fastboot flashing lock , both serve same purpose, locking bootloader. But some device use oem lock command whereas some use flashing lock command to lock bootloader. You can try both to see which one works for you.

Have a nice day 😉
