Guide : Installing TWRP Custom Recovery

This post applies only to the people who have unlocked bootloader and are experienced with custom ROMs and recoveries, if you want to unlock bootloader, follow the below guide:

NOTE: If you want to boot TWRP temporarily to flash custom ROM, follow this:

 

To Boot into TWRP 

1) Follow Step 1 from Below

2) Type the command in ADB

      adb reboot bootloader

3) Follow Step 5 from Below

4) To boot into twrp type

     fastboot reboot twrp.img

5) If you have a screen lock setup, enter the password to enter twrp

6) Click on install to flash the ZIP or IMG you want, Enjoy Flashing!!!

To Flash TWRP permanently

( You can't Flash ROMs with this, but you can root, flash zip files, etc, to flash ROMs use above method)

1) Connect your device to PC and open ADB

2) Type the command in ADB

     adb reboot-fastboot

3) When device boots to fastbootd,

(Yes , fastbootd, not fastboot, the name will appear in red colour on top)

4) Type Command to check if device is recognised

    fastboot devices

5) Now download and Rename the file to twrp.img from the link below and paste it in the platform-tools folder

6) Now enter following commands one by one:

     fastboot erase recovery_a

     fastboot erase recovery_b

     fastboot flash recovery_a twrp.img

     fastboot flash recovery_b twrp.img

     fastboot reboot

 

7) To boot into TWRP, type

adb reboot recovery

 in adb 

 

Congratulations, you've Done it! 👍👍👍

 

To revert back to Stock recovery, Download Stock Moto One Fusion + ROM from here:

Extract the downloaded file and you will find a file named recovery.img

 

Copy it to platform-tools folder

 

1) Connect your device to PC and open ADB

 

2) Type the command in ADB

 

     adb reboot-fastboot

 

3) When device boots to fastbootd,

 

(Yes , fastbootd, not fastboot, the name will appear in red colour on top)

 

4) Type Command to check if device is recognised

 

    fastboot devices

 

5) Now enter following commands one by one:

 

     fastboot erase recovery_a

 

     fastboot erase recovery_b

 

     fastboot flash recovery_a recovery.img

 

     fastboot flash recovery_b recovery.img

 

     fastboot reboot

 

 

Done!!!
