How to enable wifi calling and voLTE

2020-10-23, 17:18 PM

When I do the *#*#4636#*#*  it shows both Wifi calling and voLTE as gray with sliders, but it does not respond to the sliders.  I cannot find either of these two things in the settings menus.  How can I turn them on?

Have you asked your carrier to provision these?

My carrier seems to think these are provisioned.  Do I need them to send me a new SIM?

I would ask them to provide a SIM, yes, so long as they don't try to charge you for that.

@SGR95

We cannot enable settings in the phone info. First check your carrier support for wifi calling and VoLTE in sim settings. Check whether the sim shows wifi calling near the video calling. AIRTEL and jio supports wifi calling whereas Vi doesn't.

Change the wifi calling preference to only when mobile network is weak and revert back. check the pone info using the code 4636 to see wifi calling provisoned.

Your mobile will show a calling symbol in the status bar on wifi connection. The normal call will be routed through wifi indicated by wifi symbol before the number. Both VoLTE and WiFi calling works for me.  Hope  it works for you. There is already a thread regarding wifi calling which may be helpful.

SIM status under About phone lists Mobile voice network type as LTE and Mobile data network type as LTE  it does not indicate anything

about voLTE or WiFi calling.   My carrier is Consumer Cellular in the USA which uses the T Mobile network.

Contact your network provider regarding their network capability . Both VoLTE and WiFi calling are well evolved technology which is even avalible in india for more than a year. I guess US carrier's also support them as they already moved to 5G.

Dont forget to update the system software as they solved the VoLTE problem in India  via recent OTA update.

I had a chat session with my provider and they say this phone is not voLTE compatable.  I cannot believe Motorola would sell me a phone two months

ago that is not  voLTE compatable.  There must be a way to turn this on.

The X15 Modem in 730G (moto one fusion +) supports VoLTE and WiFi calling. If Your carrier supports VoLTE, Unless Motorola specifically dissabled it VoLTE should work because it's a stock android feature.

I dont know how it works in US, in India lot of china phones are released everyday and network providers simply say that the device doesn't support VoLTE and wifi calling to get you off their back.

You can try with other network carriers. Or you can ask present carrier by telling that you have costlier moto edge + and see their response.

Re:How to enable wifi calling and voLTE

I plan to call Motorola support next week (I don't trust weekend support) and see what they say.  I found a review which said Motorola was not

supporting Wifi calling on this phone in the US.  I don't care too much about that, but I need voLTE or I have to replace the phone as my carrier is upgrading and will not

accept phones which do not support voLTE.  I can say at this point I never intend to buy a Motorola product again unless this can be fixed.
