Truth about screen protection

2020-10-27, 0:15 AM

Hi all,

I have seen at least three posts in here regarding the screen protection and none of them have been answered satisfactorily and the answers aren't even consistent.

In one, the mod has answered that the glass used in this device is NEG Dragontail, but there us no such thing as NEG Dragontail glasses because Dragontail are not even manufactured by NEG, instead it is manufactured by Asahi Glass Co. while the NEG has Dinorex glass series.

In another one the mod has answered that we cannot share the glass name but it is scratch resistant.

And while the third one is left unanswered.

So with all due respect, instead of treating the customers like they don't know anything, can you guys just be more transparent with your customers and just answer that this device has a protective glass or not?

I understand if it's a legal issue but at least be honest and tell us if we need an external screen protection or not? Just let us know if this device has any kind of scratch resistance or not?

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to us and I apologize for the confusion. The display of Motorola One Fusion+ is Scratch resistant made by NEG, Dinorex, not Dragontail.

Regarding the display, if you need to use an external screen guard or not, well, it is always better to use extra protection when it comes to displays after all it is glass and will be broken if dropped from certain heights or impacted.

If there is anything else you need help with, please let me know, we are here to help!

Regards,

Suman

Alright, thank you, Suman for your response. Can you let us know what variant of Dinorex glass it has?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

We are unable to provide more information on the variant. However, I would like to inform you that it's scratch-resistant.

Thanks

Sandip

Alright Sandeep, I guess I'll make my peace with it since you guys are saying it's scratch resistant! Though it'd be great if you can share the information about the variant, but it seems you guys are having some legal issues. Anyway, thanks, I guess.

@Tesla36942    So would you not be going for a Tempered Glass?

Nope, actually I've been using my phone without any kind of screen protector since last 5 days and it seems fine to me, but I wanted to know if there'll be any hairline scratches in long time or not. Hence the curiosity regarding glass material.
