LMSA doesn't support One Hyper

2020-02-22, 0:27 AM

Dear Moto Agents,

At the moment LMSA does not support Motorola One Hyper. This is quiet embarrassing... Please check the root cause and come back with a straight forward implementation target date. Thank You!

Hi.

We're working on this. We've taken some steps but they don't appear to be working everywhere.

Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well.

Need help updating your profile? See here. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

Thanks,

Matt

Re:LMSA doesn't support One Hyper

Hi Matt,

My previous post seems to have disappeared in the migration. I did try the LMSA since the Hyper was added to the device list.

Interestingly, when I ran LMSA (v4.5.0.14) with my Hyper XT2027-3 connected in fastboot mode (not fastbootd), the PC software (in rescue mode) eventually recognised the device and then sat toggling its flip-flops (twiddling its thumbs) for 12 hours, downloading nothing (so far as I could see) but remaining unresponsive.

Fearing that the software was sucking out the contents of my unit, I disconnected it after an hour. The software continued twiddling its thumbs (but still apparently doing nothing whilst remaining unresponsive and taking anything between 1% and 25% of my PCs processing capacity and occupying 113MB of ram - the LMSA windows service is idling and occupying 6.5MB of ram). If connection of my unit was required at this stage, I would have expected a prompt to appear but so far (now 13 hours later) nothing has happened.

I don't know if this info is of any use to you, but I would have expected an image to have been downloaded by now.

Kind regards,

Doug

Hello Mackhie,

It sounds like the software stalled or timed out in some way.

We would like you to delete the existing firmware that was previously downloaded and download a new copy just to rule out a corrupt file that could be causing the failure:

1.      Close LMSA (if it happens to be open)

2.      Open the directory:  C:\ProgramData\LMSA\Download\RomFiles

3.      Delete any folder that is in the directory, which will be the firmware files for the device

4.      Be sure to empty the Windows trash if low on hard drive space, as this deleted file is large

5.      Open LMSA again and connect the device in fastboot mode to the usb cable

6.      Start the process again to select the Moto device and start a new download of the firmware

7.      Once the firmware is downloaded, start the Rescue process to see if the same failure is seen.

Can you please let me know what the results are?  If it still doesn't work after these steps we may want to gather your log file.

Thank you,

Becky

Hi Becky,

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the slow response (Corona manic in the UK - mind elsewhere).

No file is downloaded into C:\ProgramData\LMSA\Download - directory is empty. Where can I find the log file to send to you?

Kind regards,

Doug

Hi Becky,

I've found the log file to send to you - how do I attach it to a message (or just send it to you, I see no option in the webpage)? It's too long to post inline (29kB - the forum throws up an error and gives up).

Kind regards,

Doug

Hi.

Can you please upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and share the link to the Bug Report via an email to supportforums@motorola.com, and include a note referring to this post so we know what it refers to.

Thanks,
