Re: As u said I tested I charged my mobile full and there is 4% drop when the phone is idle

look on the first page of battery stats and see what apps are listed. You may have to wait for more battery usage to see them all appear.

Hi.

I totally agree with AlphaDog.

  1. A week of battery life and you are talking about something "killing the battery."
  2. It's not possible to evaluate the battery based on 4% of the use. Please use it for a few days, note anything unusual, take screenshots, and then post.

We want to address reports that are serious and documented.

Google Play Services eating upto 38% of total battery in 2 hour of app active after Android Pie update. This was limited to approximately 10% in Android Oreo.

Except Google Play Services no app nor even screen is draining battery that much.

Cannot uninstall Google Play Services, can't force stop. It needs to be optimized with Pie ASAP as this is the main cause of battery drain.

I permit you to look into my apps for the issue if any Dev is interested that might be really good.

Battery drain issue in my One Power (Airtel). Batetry usage pics attached:

Disappointed with the battery backup for a 5000 mAh device. My Lenovo P2 a42 (with a 5100 juice) was much better.

I've adaptive battery, and battery optimisation on for almost all apps.

Screenshots on the left are for a one-day usage, without music, bluetooth, and navigation. With these on, the battery wouldn't last a single day on full charge. Pretty pathetic from Motorola.

I permit you to look into my apps to zero-in on the problem.

It's funny how the admins would do anything but accept that One Power suffers from a batetry drain issue; but then can you expect anything else from them but to try to act as if the isue doesn't exist?

Your screen on time shows 19.5 hours - what are you expecting? That is incredible for a phone. Other phones with half the battery don’t get half that.

Re: Battery drain in Motorola one power

Yes there is a huge issue with the battery. I have put my phone on safe mode to test the same. This phone heats up even if you try to install 4-5 apps from playstore (any apps even if google apps like maps earth youtube gmail) & worst of all the battery drains out so quickly. Just exact 2 minutes of whatsapp drops 1% of battery from 100% full charge to 99%. Kindly help solve this though it may not b solvable as it really seems like a hardware issue which means the battery is totally crap. Same thing happening in safe mode battery full charged 100% drops down by 1% every exact 2 minutes (160 seconds) of use only.

If possible plz do solve this issue or else please team Motorola/Lenovo please dont sell products like these in the future saying 5000 mah battery but which is all totally crap. Had it been abroad in other countries of Europe or USA a customers would have really sued you for this total faulty feature of the battery which keeps dropping by 1% from full charge 100% with only 2 minutes of use.

If it is hardware, you have a one year warranty. I haven't seen many complaints, so it appears something unique to your phone.

Since the problem continues in safe mode, try putting the phone in safe mode and airplane mode - all radios off. Maybe when you go to bed.

If you still suspect hardware, reset the phone and test in airplane mode with NO apps restored or installed. If you still see significant battery drain then service is needed.

Everything you describe though sounds like poor signal, misbehaving apps, or both.

Re: Battery drain in Motorola one power

I purchased the phone on Feb 9th 2019 & its 8th March 2019, not even a month & issues started already with the battery. Didnt pay much attention to the issue with the battery drain though battery drain & heating issue was from the very beginning. However today at work as I had to attend a lot of calls noticed the huge battery drain issue which is just crap. 5000 mah of battery & so bad perfoamnce when it comes to battery power backup. Not recommended at all as the battery drains very quickly. This problem faced by all customers is because the battery itself is faulty crappy thats why it drains so quickly even after 100% full charge even in switched off.

Hi.

Thanks for having your IMEI in your profile. I can see a couple of things that may be contributing to poor battery life.

  • Your screen brightness is set to 100%. Recommend you use Adaptive Brightness, and just use the slider to adjust when the light level is too low or too high. The new Adaptive Brightness application will learn from you and will soon be able to adjust to your preferences. This should save power.
  • As AlphaDog suggested, you do appear to spend most of your time in a weak signal area. This is definitely going to impact battery life. How strong a signal do you usually see in the indicator in the notification bar?

If you give me permission -- just tell me here -- I can look at your apps for other clues.

I personally don't think what happens between 100 and 99 percent is relevant. What is your general expected battery life? Can you run the phone for a few hours or down to 50 percent, for example, and post a screenshot of what apps are using battery? (Some of this covered here.)

Thanks,

- Matt
