Google play services draining battery

2019-10-22, 10:18 AM

Dear Admin,

I noticed that Google Play Services is using a lot of battery recently. I am attaching a screenshot for your reference.

Kindly look into it.

I also allow you to look for the app usage in my phone for the battery usage.

Thank you.

Hi AV23,

Thanks for posting! Perform Clear Cache and check-- go to Settings > Apps & notification > App Info > select all the apps > Storage > Clear Cache > restart the device. See how it goes.

Regards,

Suman

Thanks.

I tried that option, but still Google Play Services has the maximum battery usage amongst all apps. It did go down the list for a couple days though.

Hi AV23,

I have checked your device performance. The device looks fine, the only Settings that need attention is "Wi-Fi Sleep Policy" as you have kept it as "Never go to Sleep". Apart from that, I don't see any issue with the device. It could be that the Google Apps are running behind and using up the battery or those apps consume more battery when used.

You can check your device in Safe Mode and observe it for some time. See if the result is the same. Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Suman

Thank you.

The Safe mode didn't cause any issue and the Play Services is also not bothering much.

Can you please tell me how to turn off the 'Never sleep' Wifi policy?

Hi AV23,

You can just turn off the Wi-Fi when you are not using the device.
