MOP - Android 10 - Dec 2019 - Issues & Suggestions

2019-12-29, 15:25 PM

Hey all,

First of all, I would like to thank the entire Dev team for giving us Android 10 to MOP so soon.

but I have issues with the same

1. Battery Drain (I have posted this issue on a separate thread)

Android 9 - 10 Hrs SOT . 2-3 Days Standby

Android 10 - 6 Hrs SOT, 1 Day Standby

Probable culprit - CPU Governor, Cores 0-3 are adjusting their frequencies as normal, but Cores 4-7 are stuck at 1113Mhz all the time. (Pic Attached)

Queries

1. Where is Google Sans font in Android 10?

Shouldn't that come included in phones which are part of the Android One Program?

2. Battery Percentage / Time to empty

Battery percentage is unreadable in status bar,

Would like an option to display it beside the battery icon like Android One Stock.

And where is the option to display 'time to empty' as in Android 10? (Device Health Services?)

Please look into these issues and suggestions

Awaiting assistance from the team.

Thank you.

Hey buddy ,welcome to the forum, good job on highlighting the issue but don't hold your breath on any kind of improvements/fixes. They arent gonna do much, trust me. Absolutely nothings gonna happen, they wont even acknowledge that there is an issue with battery drain. Now that they are done with 2 major OS updates we arent gonna get any improvements apart from security updates ???

Ps : I do not work for Motorola, I'm just a consumer who owns a Motorola one power

Well, that's comforting to know :smileytongue:

I also feel the same that they won't be providing any significant fixes except security updates.

If they can't fix the battery drain issue, at least tell us how to roll back this update, cause the phone is almost unusable , and it feels like a 3000mAh battery.

Hi Jack731,

Thanks for reporting! Have you tried any troubleshooting steps regarding this? I would suggest you perform a Factory Data Reset for the battery drainage as we recommend performing a reset after a Software update as it helps to start the device afresh and that could solve your concern. Let me know.

Regards,

Suman

Thank for your response Agent_Suman.

Battery drain is visible after factory reset and in Safe Mode.

Apart from that,

What about the 'Google Product Sans' Font found in stock Android?

What about the unreadable Battery Percentage inside the battery icon on status bar?

Users have to swipe down notification drawer to actually see the %.

Other manufacturers have given end users the option to show percentage beside the battery icon. (Android One phones)

Why have you guys drifted away from the stock Android UI protocol?

Shouldn't Android-One be almost the exact replica of Stock Android?

Where is the option to turn 'on' Time to Empty on notification bar like in Stock?

I am not asking for any features to be added.

I am asking for the basic Android 10 features that are missing in this update.

Otherwise you guys are fooling customers in the name of Android One.
