Mic issues while shooting a video

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a7vrSbOD1QNMPCfDGMbT8WiCuTYUrKws/view?usp=drivesdk

This video was shot on Motorola one power. I was surprised that the audio quality was horrifying. Is it a device specific issue or the current software is not capable to record base sound?

Ugh, that's awful.

Can you say more about this situation and how the phone responds in other attempts? Does it always sound like that or was the volume in that venue just terrifically loud? And do you have a case or any kind of screen protector, etc. on the phone?

Thanks,

- Matt

Re: Mic issues while shooting a video

Hello Matt,

Thanks for the response.

I had recorded 3 videos at that moment and all had the same problem when the DJ dropped the base, the phone was only with the company provides case & thin screen guard. The venue was extremely loud as you can hear in the video when the DJ lifts the bass. My buddy was recording at the same time from a different phone (Samsung) and everything was fine with that device. I did not have the opportunity to record a new video in equivalent atmosphere.

I still have the chance (today is the last day) to return and replace the device if it seems device specific issue. Could you please advise?

If the phone still has the plastic cling on the display, I would bet that's the problem - it's probably covering the mic hole. That is not intended as a permanent item. It's just there to protect the phone until you get it. If I'm right, it should peel off easily and that would allow the mic to work. Are voice calls a problem too? I would think so.

I've been at shows loud enough to overwhelm the mic of my phone, but this sounds different.

Re: Mic issues while shooting a video

Hello Matt,

Thanks for the response.

I would disagree because if you look at the attached photo https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bI9XZ-CExLorSddgHALulw5RnL9WEzfu/view?usp=drivesdk , the screen guard is not at all covering the mic and hence should not have the influence on voice recorded while shooting a video. Unfortunately I am not in a position at this moment to shoot a video in a similar atmosphere.

Could you advise?

My advice has not changed. Remove the cling and let me know if it happens again.

Thanks,

Problem with microphone

https://photos.app.goo.gl/gnLsVEQ2dZ2wQQsMA

I recorded this video when there was a party going on.
I dont know why but the audio is totally distorted. The song has a little base and it happens to be a base drop.
Pleaselook into it because it will be sad that I cannot record videos at a party.

I have had my mic overwhelmed by loud music, so not completely unexpected, but again this isn't great.

Can you say if audio suffers at normal levels of volume, like normal conversations, etc.?

Thanks,

Please listen to this video. The voice of the people feels a little distorted. There is a little distortion(very little, it can be heard in phone but not in pc).
There is an upcoming event and DJ night in my college and now it seems that i cant record video, it will ruin it.

P.S- that boy in the video has a birthday
