Moto one camera wont focus after update

2020-01-27, 20:29 PM

After the updates to the moto one, I don't know what happened but my rear camera will not focus on objects near the camera AT ALL. Even when I tap on the screen to focus. It's just straight up blurry.

What specific update are you blaming for the camera focus issue?  Your favorite camera app?  Android operating system version?  Security updates?  Give us something to work with please.

No, the camera that came with the phone and system, otherwise I wouldn't ask this on the MOTOROLA FORUM.

Obviously not the security update, the system app updates.

And how the heck would I know?!?! Thats why I'm asking support.

All I know is the camera stopped focusing on nearby objects, like words on paper, and this was never a problem before.

And no I did not break my phone nor camera.

Attached is a picture of a oatmeal packet for example.

Hi Elephartle,

Sorry to know about this. Please perform Clear Cache in your device, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App Info > Camera > Storage > Clear Cache. Also, Force Stop the camera, restart the device and re-open again. Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Suman

Update: the motorola system camera clashes with adobe lightroom (a photo editing app), I had to uninstall it for the camera to focus again. Thank you for the help!

This helped me too

New update, a few hours after i uninstalled the lightroom app, the camera stopped autofocusing again, so the problem isn't fixed. I tried all of the suggestions above, turning off my phone, deleting cache, everything. It still isn't working

Hi Elephartle,

That's odd. Can you test your device in Safe Mode and see if it's the same? Let me know how it goes.

Also, check if the Camera app is updated in Play Store.

Suman
