Re: [Motorola One Power] Proximity sensor triggers fingerprint scanner

I am facing that same issue too.
Please suggest what to do

Hi.

Right now, the best thing you all can do it provide as much detail as possible.

  1. When do you see this happening? Where is the phone? What have you most recently been doing with the phone?
  2. Do you have any cases, clings or screen protectors on the phone?
  3. How frequently does it happen (that you notice). How many times per day?
  4. And please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to  look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.Need help updating your profile? See here. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943
  5. If you can, please share a bug report after you see this happen. Here's how to do that.
    1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap on Build number 7 times on the build number to go into the developer options mode
    2. After the above steps Developer options will be enabled and will show in your Settings menu.
    3. Go to Settings > Developer options > Enable USB debugging > Toggle On
    4. Enable Settings > Developer options > Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
    5. Once the issue is reproduced, Go to Settings > Developer options > Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.
    6. Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
    7. Then upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the BugReport on the forums in a reply or email to supportforums@motorola.com, and include a note referring to this post so we know what it refers to.
    8. Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the time that you observed the behavior in local time.

We are very interested in getting to the bottom of this, but we can't reproduce it so we need some help.

Thanks,

- Matt

Re: [Motorola One Power] Proximity sensor triggers fingerprint scanner

I'd written earlier that the issue resurfaced, but it seemed to be a one-off occurrence. Stopped seeing it after a few mins.

Finger print sensor is dirty. Please clean and try again

 Hi All,

One weird thing tjhat I noticed is the note message mentioned in this subject 'Finger print sensor is dirty. Please clean and try again'.

I never tried to unlock the phone but still getting this warning message every minute which is really weird and annoying.

Please let me know if there is any setting chnage requried.

Thanks

Re: [Motorola One Power] Proximity sensor triggers fingerprint scanner

Hey forum,

I've been keeping a constant watch on my phone after removing the screen cling. It's definitely significantly reduced the problem. I see the issue now maybe once or twice a week. So if you're facing the issue and have the stock screen cling on, remove that first. It'll only help.

That aside, there is some other issue that's causing the FPS to get triggered, even though not so frequently now as before. Ideally this issue wouldn't show up at all, and my phone is certainly not there yet.
