Any app that works for calls recording?

2019-12-29, 17:29 PM

Hi.

I have tried all most popular call recording apps with my new Motorola One Vision: ACR Call recorder, Cube recorder, Boldbeast, etc. All with the same behavior, my voice is perfectly recorded, but not the other side.

Other phones with Android 9 like Nokia smartphones (with pure Android like Motorola) allows to record calls to those apps.

Any solution? For me is a very important feature, you can't take notes when you are driving, and call recording is the perfect solution.

If i'm not mistaking, you can't use call recording apps on Android 9 phones. You have to root your phone to get it to work.

Not really. I know the limitations of Android 9 and call recording, but the final decision is from the manufacturer. I have a Nokia 5 smartphone, with updated pure Android 9 stock and not rooted, and the app ACR Call Recorder works flawlessly.

The argument about the legality of call recording is meaningless, because it is different depending on the country. In my country, as in many other European countries, it is allowed as long as the recording is for personal use only.

Besides the legality or manufacturer decisions, it doesn't work for you. I have a Nokia 5.1 and it doesn't work for that phone either.

Mine is a Nokia 5, not a Nokia 5.1, they are different models, and with the same version of Android as the Motorola One Vision.

What I mean is if the manufacturer wants it, it can allow the recording of calls, or even develop its own in-built call recorder to allow this functionality as Xiaomi does, regardless of whether the operating system allows it or not.

I don't understand how with a more modern operating system I have less functionality than with a older one. In my old Moto G3 I could also record phone calls without any problem.

I know they are different models.
I don't think Moto ever will follow Xiaomi regarding call recording, they will do what Google tells them to do and so will probably most manufacturer's.
The call recorder is a integrity issue that most manufacturer's will not even touch anymore, especially Google (not really a manufacturer).

And that's the reason why Xiaomi is non-stop growing, among other reasons.

Motorola should consider that who buys their phones are the users, not Google.

There is no reason to disable call recording functionality in countries where their laws allow it. In fact, the Chinese version of Motorola One Vision, sold in that country as Motorola P50 (with 6 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB), with Android 9 also, includes call recording feature through the built-in ZUI interface (so even is not necessary to install a third party app). Why in China yes and not in other countries where call recording is also allowed?

Yeah Xiaomi will grow very big.
I agree with you, it's kind of stupid but we live in a world of laws.

Somewhat necro, but eventually it may be officially supported by the Google phone/dialer app:

https://www.theverge.com/2020/1/15/21066814/google-phone-app-dialer-call-recording-xiaomi-pixel-android-one

I know this doesn't help you right now, and there is no ETA or guarantee of this being ever activated, but its worth to look out for.

I have read about that, but for now they are only assumptions that can take a long time to come true.
