Re:Feb 26 still no update

Thanks for the response.

To quote the page you referred to above for the Motorola Vision:

"Security updates

This product is scheduled to continue to receive security updates.

Android security patches are included in all new Moto software updates, including Operating System upgrades, Maintenance Releases, and Security Maintenance Releases."

The concern here is the delay. I don't think people are looking for an exact date but three months late seems extreme without an explanation. Security updates are the most important update to a phone. Being three months behind on a currently supported Android One phone is pretty much inexcusable and unheard of. While I, like many others, am anxiously awaiting the release of A10, I am way more concerned that my brand new moto vision is not up to date when it comes to security. That is a serious problem that Lenovo is not taking seriously.

I see a lot of comments on this forum saying "never again Motorola," "stay away from Motorola guys" and at first I was thinking this was just emotional reactions to being frustrated with lack of communication from Lenovo to its customers but now that I have had my phone since November and haven't had a single security update since November, I am starting to see what the fuss is all about. Three months behind is unheard of for a phone that is new and currently supported (according to the site you sent us to above). If Lenovo doesn't think we will keep this in mind when we upgrade to our next device, they are sadly mistaken. For me, this is a huge deciding factor. I want security.

The response "we don't give dates" is fair and understandable because there is a lot going on behind the scenes and it's hard to commit to an exact date. HOWEVER, when you are three+ months behind on keeping a current device secure, you need to communicate to your customers as to what is happening. As far as I can tell, it looks like you've already abandoned this device. While I know this is not true - it is only because I have found this forum and read a few users getting A10 update that I know there is still some life in the moto vision. But if I am a customer that does not actually go to this forum, I would have thought I bought a phone that is already obsolete or worse, not realize how insecure my device is as I use it for banking and other apps where security is number one.

I know people with two-year old phones (non Android One) that get regular security updates every single month. Once in a while it is a few weeks (not months) delayed and the manufacturer actually communicates this back to their customers.

This method of ignoring your customers does not bode well for repeat business, which should be a top priority to ensure brand loyalty and increased sales.

But what do I know? I am just a customer.

I doubt I will ever buy another Motorola device again. It is sad to say. I really thought that when I bought a "one" phone I was buying a phone that would be updated in a timely manner. I was wrong. 🙄

This is unacceptable! Im RETLA and still no Update since November, The adverticement was MONTLY UPDATES and the Motorola agents in store told that, so the all phones will be updated in February was a lie too, because we're already in March. In the software upgrade webpage, my country didnt even have the phone listed, this is a shame. SMH!

And finally it arrived! Today at noon the update to Android 10 appeared and a few hours later the security patch on February 1. My phone uses the RETAR channel (Argentina). So far I did not find any error and everything is going well ... I hope it stays that way. Sorry for my English.
