Massive Problems with mobile Internet

2019-08-01, 19:24 PM

I bought the Motorola One Vision last Saturday and had only problems with the mobile internet so far. The device always shows me H+  H or 3G, in places (in the middle of town) where I always had 4G and friends I'm standing next to have 4G as well.
But if H+ or H is displayed I still don't have Internet. Most of the time I still can't access a website.
Sometimes the browser shows me that I don't have an internet connection.

In the last days I had only once scarcely half an hour in which I had normally 4G and a good connection.

Often the symbol for the mobile connection is grayed out.

Also, sometimes there is no network connection after the display was off for a few minutes.

Games such as PokemonGo are not possible with the connection.

As Phone carrier I have o2 - Germany with a LTE/4G contract.

Try these,

1.Do a Manual scan for a Network and choose any Network other than yours and let it fail. Then pick the correct one and then Flick Flightmode on and off.

2. Reset Network Settings

Settings>System and Reset>Network Settings Reset and Reset Settings and then restart the phone.

If this doesn't work go to your provider and find their APN settings and input them manually and then flick flightmode on and off.

HTH :)

Betreff: Massive Problems with mobile Internet

2019-08-02, 16:43 PM

Finally! The same problem here! I'm also using the O2 network (K-Classic Mobil).

I already recognized a specific pattern:

1. In the Headline, the signal indicator shows full signal. Beside the signal indicator, the symbol "H+" is displayed.
2. I'm starting the browser and request a website -> No connection
3. The symbol changes from "H+" to "H" -> No connection
4. A few seconds later, the symbol changes to "H+". Now the mobile connection is working with a decent speed. But this lasts only a few minutes.

With LTE or 4G connections, there are no issues at all.

Regards,

Christian

Hi @Porphyrius,

I tried your recommendations. But nothing of this was working. Exact same behaviour as before.

Thank you anyways.

I also tried to change the SIM card to a new one. But also no luck here.

I tried to get contact with the support of my mobile provider. If I get an answer I will add it to this thread.

Any other suggestions?

Regards,

Christian

Thanks guys.

Can you please share your postal codes? This might help us understand the problem.

Also, could you change the Privacy setting on your phone to share some check-in data with us? (Settings > System > Advanced > Motorola Privacy.)

Thanks,

- Matt

Re: Massive Problems with mobile Internet

Hi Matt,

I did a few checks on my own the last days. I played around with the "Bevorzugter Netztyp" option in the mobile settings (don't know how the option is named in English...).

Here are the results:

Option set to "2G":

-> Stable (but slow of course) connection with Edge (signal indicator symbol "E")

Option set to "3G":

-> No internet connection with UMTS (signal indicator symbol "3G")

-> No internet connection with HSPA (signal indicator symbol "H")

-> Fast but unstable connection with HSPA+ (signal indicator symbol "H+"). Connection falls back to "H" (which has no internet connection) and recovers to "H+". After that, the connection works for a few requests until the next fall back.

Option set to "LTE":

-> If LTE is available (signal indicator symbol "LTE"), the connection is fast and reliable.

What could trigger this odd behaviour with the "H+" connection? Why does the mobile internet fall back to "H" even though a reliable "H+" connection is available? And why doesn't the mobile internet work at all in "H"?

Regards,

Christian

Hi!

I can confirm same issue, no issues on LTE, H+ wonky, H and 3G most of time with light gray icon near signal and not working at all. Didnt notice this before July update.

Already tried reset APN settingd and wireless settings, tried custom APN access. No diffrence.

Best Regards,

Jacek
