Re: Full screen video washed out highlights

perfectly able to replicate this on my moto one vision. Going back and forth between rotations it's clearly visible.

For resolving the overburned video install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.panagola.app.bluef and take to zero all basic colours: red, green and blue (square button with a pencil, located in up right of the screen).  Than add some Filter darkness. Works ok :)

Can confirm that this does work around the problem - I had to add quite a bit of darkness (set slider just past the end of the word "darkness" in landscape mode). So I'm a little concerned I'll be draining more battery than necessary, but if you have to play a video full screen with normal-looking faces and clouds: this'll do it.

@MattForumsMngr, would be great to get an acknowledgement that you're listening; that the "I have this problem too"s have been noted and that the additional how-to-replicate info has been passed on to engineering.

On that last topic, I note that the issue is easily the most apparent in the current YT app; considerably less so in videos embedded in web pages - e.g. opening a YT video in web view will show the issue in full-screen eventually, but it does not manifest straight after switching to full-screen the way the YT app vids do. For the record it's currently v 14.46.52.

Yeah it does seem to be a viable workaround. Thanks. Even the slightest bit of "darkness" seems to have great effect.
I hope Moto listens and actually fixes the problem by the time they release the Android 10 OTA update.

EDIT: Hadn't tested it properly. While it does look like it solves the problem at the first glance, it soon becomes obvious that this workaround just masks the problem to some extent. It is better than nothing however.

Hello everyone,

I just bought a Moto One Vision (literally arrived today) and this issue was immediately noticeable.

You can clearly see the Motorola One Vision applying some sort of saturation/hdr/contrast effect when rotating a Youtube video.

This is very unpleasant and crushes whites with artificial contrast and detail with overly saturated and artificial colors. It's also clearly a software issue as it visibly changes while rotating (it flashes to a normal color while rotating).

Color mode is set to Natural, but still this issue occurs.

I filmed it with my old phone, please check it below:

https://youtu.be/V2By0nfwnys

Notice the red on the dresses right before and right after I rotate the video. The background and face are also overly bright (less noticeable as it is rotating and the camera is not so great).

This is a big disappointment and I'm now considering returning the One Vision.

Please look into this issue asap. It's not just a small problem, it really ruins image quality.

Play this video at seconds 11 and put it on pause and rotate. Here the problem is most visible!

Motorola, how long we have to wait for this problem to be fixed?

Motorola, being a Lenovo sub brand, I'm gonna have to assume you'll get rid of the bug when you get a new phone.

I just bought my motorola one vision, and i experience the same problem.

My question is, is this something that will be fixed in a future update or do i have to return the phone to the store and buy a phone from a different brand?
