Re: Moto one vision display

Is the someone from motorola / lenovo reading these posts? Can someone from the company respond that they recognise the problem? Will this problem be fixed?

I am curently making a list of all the reviewers who have made video's and articles about the motorola one vision. So i can contact them with the details about this bug so this problem will be a known issue and people will be warned before considering buying the motorola one vision. I would be happy to add the details of a planned fix for this problem to my messages. Please let me know a.s.a.p.

to Xan4eto, screenproblem

After a few monthes with Moto one vision, all I can say is "go buy yourself o different phone".

Reasons:

The display on my old Moto G5S is way better than the display on Moto one vision.

Moto one vision has a very poor display that lead to eye pain/strain.

Netflix it is available only in SD mode and can't go full screen, it keeps a black bar on the punch hole side.

Hi Gil17,

The problem seems to be a poorly implemented feature or a bug, the display is capable of displaying video correctly but when going to fullscreen the image visably changes after a few seconds. I believe this is not a hardware issue but more likely a software issue.

The question is will Motorola/Lenovo confirm that they understand that this issue exists, and will they confirm that this is somthing they will fix in a future update?

Can someone from Motorola/Lenovo please reply to this discussion?

Sure its a software problem.

Few posts ago I posted a workaround.

After a few monthes with Moto one vision, I can say its a dissapoint. From display point of view.

Generaly phone moves ok, 4g signal is very good, battery  life is so-so (towards bad if phone is hard used), gps signal is so-so (ok-ish in open space), writing demands very thin fingers.

The lack of response since we (IMHO) made this clearly repeatable and got lots of "I have this too"s is a bit disappointing. Can you @ an admin? Do we double-post? Throw in some mild curse words to see if we get attention?

Re Netflix, it plays in HD for me and movies that are 21:9 fit fine. Certainly the screen is no worse than my G5+. Overall I'd say 21:9 is probably not something I'd go for again, but it's not like moto didn't tell me what the aspect ratio was before I bought.

For sure it's a software problem, but it's for sure that Motorola are lazy to fix it.

How is possible Motorola, to ruin this nice phone with few fixable software problems?

Can you play this video and tell me what you think? There is big difference in horizontal and landscape mode.
It looks like One Vision support HDR!?
What do you think?

It "supports" HDR alright! But it looks like sh!t. The highlights are clipping and the shadows are crushed into a weird ugly mess. That's not what HDR is supposed to look like. If you haven't seen what true HDR is supposed to look like, go to a good TV showroom and watch some proper HDR content on a HDR10 certified OLED TV. It's impossible to explain in words or demonstrate without a proper HDR display.

@Xan4eto I'd say it's because Motorola is owned by Lenovo and every single Lenovo product I've purchased thus far have been absolutely abominable. Hadn't purchased anything Lenovo for over 7 years until the moto one vision.
