Yes I agree with you, just until December security patch I didn't see the HDR option in YouTube or I'm mistaken?
And also nowhere in the reviews about this phone this option is described!?

No, HDR support has been there ever since.

I was hoping with the Android 10 update the display issues would be solved but no luck there.

At least you got regular updates, some of the Latin America users still are at November security update, an guess what?? Motorola doesn't care....they ignore all of my tweets and post !

@ piersg

On Netflix search and play "test patterns" and in the up right corner you'll see movie resolution while played. For Moto one vision movie playes at 960x540 (while moto one vision display resolution is 2520 x 1080). Not much of HD.

Well .. you're absolutely right. My bad, I can't say I would ever choose to consume HD on a phone, but they didn't look that terrible.

In fact according to Netflix, the only moto phones they do do HD on are the Droid Turbo and the X from 2014, which seems a little strange for 2020 (and I mean Netflix vs all brands, not just Moto), although I don't doubt supporting HD for every Android phone ever made wouldn't be fun

All i can say is this will be my 5th but definitely my last motorola phone.. why is nobody from lenovo replying to this? There is a reproducable bug that effects all video playing apps on the phone, you would think this would be a priority!

I'm not sure I fully understand this "bug". Sure I can see clearly that the screen gets brighter, with washed out colours while rotating the screen back and forth between landscape/portrait mode, but one sec leter it turns back to "normal". This is only while watching HDR content. I can't see any difference on "normal" videos.

Are you saying that you all want the brighter, more pale screen at all times?

It is impossible to don't see any difference in normal videos.

Go to message 28, and play the video that I shared and read what to do to see the difference.

You're right. It's clearly visible in the background. I only watched a bunch of random videos before my previous reply and didn't really notice it in those vids.

This wouldn't be a deal breaker for me who rarely watch youtube/netflix on the phone itself, but I understand it must be annoying if you spend a lot of time on youtube.
