Motorola One Vision - GPS not accurate and lagging

2019-07-21, 18:32 PM

I bought a Motorola One Vision recently and I realized while using Google Maps, that the phone could not locate me accurately and while I am walking or driving, my location is about 30 seconds to one minute too late. I have tried factory resetting my phone, just rebooting and uninstalling all google maps updates as well as clearing all the app's data and cache and nothing seems to work. I troubleshooted my GPS using the Moto Help app but it gave me a positive test and says nothing is wrong. Any ideas on what to do?

I have a similiar situation, but all my GPS tests in Moto Help failed. Google Maps update my location once per 30 seconds and is not very accurate. I test GPS on Pokemon GO, it works same as Google Maps. Endomondo can't find my location. I also tried "GPS status & Toolbox" app and it also doesn't work.

Edit: I'd like to know if this is a hardware or software issue.

Hi.

This is a software issue and the update to address it has already rolled out to some owners, so it's expected soon. Thanks for your patience as we fix this.

There are multiple threads on this topic - always a good idea to search before posting an issue.

Regards,

Hello Matt,

This is a software issue and the update to address it has already rolled out to some owners, so it's expected soon. Thanks for your patience as we fix this.

The reports (at least in this forum) for the GPS problems are from January 2019. In the beginning on February 2019 you said that the fix is coming soon https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/motorola-one-vision/Motorola-One-Vision-GPS-Location-problem/td-p/4453079.

Appreciate the information provided here and by some members. We will have software in an upcoming update that will address this GPS issue.

Its now August 2019 and we still cannot use properly ANY sport tracking and navigation software, because of this GPS problem.

Do you know approximately when this can be fixed?

Thank you!

Hi.

I think the confusion is coming from the different ways dates are formatted depending on the region. In the US, it is typical to have the date read Month/Day/Year, so my comment is from July 2, not February 7. The phone didn't launch until late June. And in fact, it is not August, but July.

The update is out most places, and you are on a new build. What GPS issues are you having? You have not said.

Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well.

Need help updating your profile? See here. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943
