Motorola One Vision Network/Signal Issue

2020-03-16, 0:02 AM
Hello, I am having an issue with my mobile carriers on my phone. As seen in the attached picture, my Verizon Network is connected to my phone with nearly full bars; yet if you look to the top of my screen, it says that I have no service. This is a problem that started after I flew back from Europe. When I landed in Canada, my Verizon service was working. When I landed in Chicago, it was still working. When I landed in Wisconsin, it has not worked since. I have restarted my phone I don't know how many times and the same result has happened. I have factory reset my phone as well with hopes that it would solve the problem, it didn't. This very well could be a Verizon Problem, but so far, that seems unlikely. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem or have suffered with the same problem??

Hi.

First question -- have you checked with Verizon?

Yes. I will be receiving a new sim card soon. However, if my sim card was not working, I should not be getting full bars for Verizon I would think. Hopefully the new one will work, but it seems strange that I am getting full bars for Verizon yet no bars on the top of the screen.

Hi.

Sorry - I had a brain cramp. This is exactly what one would expect since this is a GSM phone and Verizon's voice network is CDMA. It makes sense that data would work but not voice.

In the US this phone will work on T-Mobile, AT&T, etc., but not Verizon or Sprint.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, the data is not working either. Is there a way to make that work??

Hi.

Honestly, I don't know of any troubleshooting for making a GSM phone work on a CDMA network. It just isn't a good match.

I take it you have had this beyond your return period?
