Motorola One Vision and Sky Map

2019-06-16, 9:54 AM

Has anyone been able to use Sky Map with Moto One Vision. On first use the Compass capability on the phone seemed fine but on loading Sky Map all gyro and compass capability stopped working (in Sky Map, Compass and Google Maps). After factory reset Compass and Google Maps navigation worked OK but then stopped again once Sky Map was loaded.

I'm guessing that this is some sort of software compatibility problem rather than a hardware fault so am interested to know whether it is a common problem or whether there is a fix available.

If anyone is using it successfully then that will also be of interest in case it is some other app on my phone causing the problem,

The Sky Map app shows the same behavior on my One Vision. The compass works until Sky Map is started. After a restart of the phone the compass works again but has to be calibrated.

Thanks guys. We're taking a look.

Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Need help updating your profile? See here. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

Thanks,

for me sky map doesn't work as intended (always points nadir), it seems like some gyroscope incompatibility, it works (but wonky) when i disable gyroscope in skymap's settings

Great news, any idea of timescales and will the patch be auto distributed or will it be necessary to manually apply it?

No pressure, it would just be nice to have a ball park idea

It will come over the air. I don't have timing.
