Motorola, what's your problem?

2020-03-05, 20:16 PM
So, I have retla for the One Vision and no update since NOVEMBER 2019, I bought the phone as an "upgrade" from the One... Now, I'm 4 months behind with security updates and NO, I'm not asking for android 10 or faster updates, I mean MONTHLY updates that was offered on the Android One program... That's the reason I stuck to Motorola since the G5+... It's a problem that NOBODY on the forum has a response or reason for the delay... And for good reason, here, there's a breach on the security for hacker's to be used stating: "The March 2020 Android security update bulletin has arrived, and it contains confirmation from Google of an elevation-of-privilege vulnerability (CVE-2020-0069) that not only affects millions of Android devices but which is also being actively exploited by cybercriminals." Taken from: https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2020/03/04/critical-android-security-risk-confirmed-millions-of-devices-can-be-rooted---update-now-if-you-can/amp/ But, what do I know, I'm just a customer, not a developer... So, motorola, as a customer that in fact has worked on Android and linux distributions, DO YOUR WORK! Give the Monthly updates in timely matter or just don't avertise the Android One program anymore... And yes, my IMEI is in my profile, so go ahead and pull it up and work on the security update or android system update... Thanks, And by the way this is the las phone that I will buy from you... I will go to Xiaomi, Nokia or Samsung...

Same here!! I'm done with Motorola! Not a single update since November for a advertised "one" device??? Unacceptable! I guess I was brainwashed into believing that Motorola would do security updates on a monthly basis. I have owned Moto devices long enough that I should have known better!

why did you post here? the forums are literally dead, i can't see any mod or admin answering any question, hell, you could post NSFW stuff and get away with it... Motorola are currently so blinded with releasing too many phones and drown the market with devices to focus on current phones that's already sold, ever since these forums are opened and they released the RAZR, they're not sending updates and they're not answering anything.. while yes, i have 10 on my RETIN, but it's Jan 2020 update, we didn't get an update in Feb and other phones non-Android One (Note 10/10+) are already receiving the March update

Everyone should leave this brand, really. Switch to OnePlus, Nokia or something else. Never again, you lazy bunch of bad developers, management team and you - forum's admins!

Hi.

I get it. We are behind here and I am working with the software team to correct this, and to understand how it happened. Apologies for this. I'll keep the community updates, to the best of my ability, on this thread.

That's the same thing that you have been saying since January, when you stated that you were looking for bug issues, 3 months later, no response, no answer, just lame excuses "we don't know", "we're working", etc... Three months is just an insult to your customers
