Pairing with Google Wear OS Watch / Shortcut to google weather / Weather info next to date

2019-07-25, 20:21 PM

Hi,

I recently bought the moto one vision. Phone is great, but found some annoying things. Please see below.

Pairing with Google Wear OS smartwatch has to be executed several times per day. Any solution for that? My last phone, also Android One and cheaper, never had such issues.

Could you please explain, why the shortcut icon to Google weather looks so strange? It should be a sun with G and not this ugly Droid icon.

Why is there no weather info next to the date? GPS is activated. All settings were checked. Could not identify the issue. Smartwatch is showing the actual weather. Any ideas?

 Thanks,

Hans

Hey there!

I have the same problem. Every time I lose connection to my Android Wear Watch (by walking too far away from my phone), I have to pair it again. Really annoying.

Same here. My Wear OS watch (Fossil Q explorist) needs to re-pair every time I lose connection. The watch doesn't show as known device in the bluetooth menu, and dissapears from my smartlock trusted devices.

Hi all,

I could fix all issues.

I backed up the phone. Then I reset both the phone and the watch to factory settings.

Then I started to set up phone and watch.

Now the short cut to Google weather looks like it should.

Now the weather info next to the date is shown on the homescreen.

And till now I paired phone and watch only once. Even when I leave the phone in one room and return into the room no additional pairing is required.

Now the Motorola One Vision is working like my old Android One phone.

I also have the same problem, but resetting the phone seems the last thing I would try. Isn't there a easier fix?

Sorry, I have to correct my answer.

The pairing issue is still not solved. Still getting the request to pair phone and watch as described above. Apart from that the issue appeared for other devices, too. E.g. I added the cyclometer and paired it with the phone. Then I tried to reconnect it. Did not work at all. So I had to delete it and then execute the pairing again.

Yes. Looks like a general Bluetooth Problem. Even the MOTOROLA Verve Buds 500 seem to lose connection from time to time and have to be paired again.

I never experienced that I lost my Bluetooth connection. The problem is when I am to far away from my phone, I always have to pair again with a verification code. My Bluetooth speaker and the vervebuds connect automatically without any problems. Is there a way to turn off the verificationcode for connecting my smartwatch, so that it can connect automatically?

Hi all,

today Wearn OS by Google app on the smartphone showed a hint: Keep connection. Wear OS by Google has to run in the background, in order to keep connection. Therefore some battery optimizations have to be switched off. I confirmed, that the app Wear OS should always run in the background.

Maybe this is solving our issue. I will keep you posted.
