Problem with mobile network: India - Airtel

2020-10-28, 13:29 PM

I have facing mobile network since many days on my Moto one vision . I will post  two images see the rounded part of 4g and 4g +  symbol where it switches like anything no matter what happens where 4g symbol give me very slow internet speed and 4g+ symbol give me higher internet speed .  I am at home no matter  when it changes and it makes me more  irritating . I think some technical problem so reporting to you.

And I am posting two images taken at some time by sitting one place where you can check variation in speed .

*Download speed

*Using airtel prepaid

  • *4g calling is on

Hi,

I also observed the same thing. Earlier it use to show 4G+ but now it only show 4G.

4G+ is another name for LTE-A, LTE-Advanced or 4.5G and it's basically a faster version of 4G. It works through carrier aggregation, which allows 4G phones to receive data from multiple bands in the 4G spectrum. So while standard 4G only uses one band at a time, 4G+ can combine two bands for increased speeds.

I wonder if this is a contention issue. Where I am (in the UK), I get good to excellent 4G speeds and for the first time recently I saw 4G+ on a visit to another part of the country but it was very slow compared to my usual 4G. I live in a residential area and where I visited was a very busy business hub.

Hi,

Thanks for letting us know about this. It looks like it has to be carrier related. Have you contacted Airtel regarding this?

However, we would still like to look into it,  please update your profile with the current phone, carrier, postal code, and IMEI number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Regards,

Suman
