Signal problem Moto One Vision

2019-06-07, 4:49 AM

After having few Motorola phones I have bought Moto One Vision, at the same time I have change Operator so it took me some time and many lost calls to realize that phone showing full signal does not mean I can get reached over the phone or to make a call. Behavior is quite random and I could not see any patern. But I have move card to my old Moto g5s plus and everything is fine, probably not mentioning that g5s get signal even on places where most of others phones are already without signal...

Anyway I'm going with a phone back to shop, but I'm afraid that it can be a problem as on few test calls it can work...

Thanks for reporting, and thanks for having your IMEI in your profile. We'll take a look.

I'm quite real.. but sure.. this is my third Motorola. I had problem already with my old g5s plus.. which was discharging while connected to charger.. but it was quite obvious, changed in 14 days return period we have in EU.. and never had any problems. This forum I have found only while searching for signal problem.. and only reason I have posted it is that I got a feeling that people from Motorola are reading it. I returned my phone to shop but now I have to wait up to 30 days.. and because the problem is not reproducible in 5 minute test I tried to contact Motorola this way. I'm sw developer and I know how difficult it can be to discover these kind of problems once you start producing devices in higher scale.

Too bad we couldn't get a bug report before you returned it. We can see a bit from your IMEI though.

Thanks,

I would not be so much sorry with returning. As a problem is not reproducable straight forward I'm bit affraid it will come back in the same state :( (but sure, I would like to be mistaken)

Hi.

We can look into this -- sorry that you're having problems.

Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Thanks,

Re: Signal problem Moto One Vision

2019-07-21, 17:14 PM

Hi Matt,

I'm using the german provider "K-Classic" which is a reseller of O2. The signal quality is not the best but was quite enough with my bq Aquaris X which I used before. My concerns are about the mobile data connection. With the one vision the reception also seems to be good, but it is quite nervous changing the connection type. In my home region the connection symbol constantly switches between "H" and "H+" and some applications obviously have problems to handle this constant change of the mobile data connection. From my perspective, this problem only seems to happen with the 3G network. With 4G / LTE (in regions where a good connectivity is available) I didn't observe poor network performance so far.

Is it possible for the user to change the network selection behaviour to a less aggressive mode to enhance the stability? Or anything else I can do from my side? (change the SIM card with a new one for example).

I set the IMEI in my profile settings. Please feel free to have a look on the device if necessary.

Update:

I want to add an observation. The connection everytime behaves like the following pattern:

Signal shows "H+" -> No / poor mobile data connection

After few seconds signal switches to "H" -> No / poor mobile data connection

After another few seconds signal switches to "H+" again -> Mobile data connection works fine and with good performance

The whole process is completed in just a few seconds. But this happens almost everytime at locations where no 4G / LTE is available and mobile data is needed by an application like Chrome.

Regards,

Christian
