unlock phone via fingerprint and then it's unlocked again via face recognition

2019-09-25, 21:33 PM

this issue is kinda annoying, sometimes when i leave the phone for a long time and unlock it via the fingerprint reader it makes the unlock sound, then it makes it again, making the phone being unlocked twice via two different methods, it's not phone breaking issue, but rather annoying and need to be fixed because it actually doesn't make any sense.

Try deactivating either the face recongnition or the fingerprint sensor. There is no need to have both enabled.

Actually it does, sometimes the fingers are wet or simply unable to use the fingerprint

I noticed that too, when unlocked with fingerprint phone vibrates second time when you're face is present, my guess is phone is learning your face again (every once in a while) to improve facial unlocking

Hello,

This could be coincidental timing when both Face Unlock and Fingerprint are enabled. Can you send us a bug report when it happens? We'd like to pass the feedback along. Thank you.

To capture Bug Report:
Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable USB debugging > Toggle On
Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
Once the issue is reproduced: Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power-down menu.
Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
Then upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the bug report on the forums in a reply.
Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the local time when you observed the behavior.

To enable developer options:
1. Go to Settings > About phone > Build number
2. Tap Build number seven times. After the first few taps, you should see the steps counting down until you unlock the developer options. Once activated, you will see a message that reads, “You are now a developer!”
3. Go back to Settings, where you’ll find a Developer options entry in the menu

Best regards,
Rich

Hi SnoopDoge,

It's part of the normal bug report steps, but it doesn't impact anything actually. You can enable it or not for normal bug report.
