Android 10 WiFi Signal

2020-09-30, 19:11 PM

Not sure it's related but could be a larger radio issue but since A10 my WiFi reception has been terrible with constant drop outs.

Hi @BimmerLad We moved your reply to a new topic as it's related to WiFi and not cellular signal. This will help us keep the topics more organized. I hope you understand.

As for the issues you're having with your wifi signal. Let's see what we can do to help.

Can you please share the Make/Model/Security of your router? Do you have this WiFi drop out on all WiFi network or just one?

Let me know,

-Tom

Hi, I have the same issue with the WI-FI signal. The signal is worst than I had on the previous Android version, with a lot of interruptions. Thanks!

Hello, the router is a DLink DIR-882 using WPA2/3.

Since other users have reported issues it's clearly a device issue and not to do with our routers.

My other devices operate flawlessly on this network as did this phone before the A10 upgrade.

Mobile signal is also much worse after the A10 update.

Hi @Cezarn & @BimmerLad ,

Thanks for sharing the Router details. Please update your profile with the current phone, carrier, and IMEI number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

If you need a reference in updating your profile, please click this link - https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

@BimmerLad To investigate further in your case, we will require a Bug report, please generate one and share it with us. Here are the steps:

Wi-Fi Bug Report Android 10

1. Enable Developer options

a. Settings > About Phone > Tap on Build number 7 times > enter PIN/Password

2. Go into Developer options

a. Settings > System > Advanced > Developer Options

3. Enable/Toggle on the following items from Developer Options

a. Bug report shortcut

b. Enable Wi-Fi Verbose Logging

4. Go back to your home screen.

5. Duplicate the issue. Once you have reproduced it generate the bug report

a. Long Press the power button and choose Take bug report from the power menu

6. You will get a notification from the Android system that a Bug report is being generated. Allow this to finish.

7. Once the report is completed you will have another notification that says Bug report #x captured Tap to share your bug report.

a. Tap on the notification > OK > Save to drive > if prompted Allow > Save

8. Once the reported is uploaded to drive you will have a notification from Drive that says 1 file uploaded.

a. Tap on the notification > Tap on 3 dots to the right of the bug report file you just uploaded > Tap on share > Tap on the lock on the bottom left > Change > Viewer > Change again > Copy link

Also, I would like to know, are you getting dropped calls or just dropped WiFi? I will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Suman

It's data connections both WiFi and 3g/4g. No calls just connections. I will try and populate a bug report and my profile should be up to date.

Sure! I am monitoring the thread, once you share the Bug Report, I will escalate it to our concerned team.
