Re:Android 10 WiFi Signal

2020-10-23, 14:34 PM

The bug report is massive (>500mb). Is the a way to limit the information collected?

I'm not comfortable posting publicly a link to a bug report that details my phone's setup including Apps installed.

The issue itself is just poor WiFi signal and drop outs when signal is strong. The connection drops and then reconnects straight away. No other device is showing these issues on the network and with the same router neither did this phone on A9.

No need to post it publicly. You can send the link to us in a PM so we can share it with our WiFi engineers.

Hi Tom, a couple of users have reported the issue as present, doesn't this negate the question of it being user dependant? Do you engineers not have devices they can test in house?

The bug report takes ages to export, is there a way to limit its data collection?

Should I just send the phone off for repair/refund instead?

We do have phones and do test internally. We ask for the bug report when we are unable to duplicate ourselves. Yes, it can take a while to generate the bug report, Once you start it you can just go about using your phone like normal until it's completed and then upload it to Google Drive and sent the link to us. That being said, if you feel like repair would be a better option, you are of course more than entitled to go that route. Keep in mind if this is a software issue, it's unlikely that service/repair will be able to help much.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out, sorry to know about this. Can you tried to Reset the Network settings and let us know if that helps.

Regards

Sandip

That didn't resolve issue .

I'm quite sure that this requires a software upgrade . Because it's just unstable . It works ok when it wants to . But suddenly decided to freeze and no response

Example .

I can see no online status if anyone  on WhatsApp. As soon as I close and reopen whatsapp it's ok. But it's not a whatsapp problem.  It applies to all apps.

Hi Mikeconnect,

Could you please remove and reconnect the Wi-Fi? If that does not help, can you please test with other Wi-Fi networks? Just to confirm if there is an issue with a particular Wi-Fi connection or not. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Sunitha
