I used a Moto G7 Plus and wanted to buy the One Zoom when it would be sure, that it gets Android 10. Now I have bought an Oppo Reno2 and I'm very happy with it! So thats how customers are turning away from Motorola!

This attachment got me to buy the motorola one zoom last year. Not knowing it was a big Scam. Very disappointed though but the question is..

When is motorola one zoom getting android 10 update.

Hi.

I'm sorry about the long wait. While we never share timing information, yes, moto zoom is expected to receive Android 10, pending partner approval, if that's required. (We have to say that as there are times a carrier, for example, just decides not to test and release the software. This is not something we can anticipate.)

It is very hard to wait when you see other devices getting updates. Some devices are always earlier in the process and some are always later, so someone is always unhappy.

Regards,

This is not about being “unhappy”, Matt. We are not pre-schoolers being denied ice-cream. We paid 400+ for a device which we believed was going to be supported properly. Timely updates is something an Android user expects. We should not have to wait almost a whole year to get an operating system whose life cycle is one year. We can barely get security updates on time, oh well. We are not ”unhappy”, we are requesting what we paid for.

That removes the carrier from the equation, and presumably the "partner" would be Motorola itself. No passing the buck here, Matt. I'm asking this as a recent Zoom purchaser with a Return Authorization already in hand: what is the status of _Motorola’s_ Android 10 release? The Zoom already passed the Wifi Alliance certification. Moto OS images are nearly stock AOSP. The Zoom's hardware is, in aggregate, already running under Android 10 on other devices (Except for perhaps the camera module?) The barrier to deployment seems a matter of resource allocation on Motorola's part. Are resources still allocated to the Android 10 release for Zoom devices sold retail by Motorola or not? I realize that support agents may not be privy to such information, but could you push my question up the chain a bit? It'd be much appreciated.

Yes good point. Why is there partner approval even necessary for those who purchased the phone unlocked?

Matt, Please can you confirm how we all go about raising formal complaints about this?

Support told me unlocked phones may take longer than carrier phones to get updates. I’m yet to understand the logic behind this.

Moto logic clearly defies regular logic...

Hi.

I never said this was a carrier/partner issue. I was simply explaining why there is a disclaimer.

The update is being worked on and is expected to be released. That's all I can say. It's frustrating to have to wait while you see other devices getting the update, I know. If I could speed it up I would.

PokePolymer, the agent who told you that unlocked taking longer than locked is simply making things up. If you used the same email address in your call center contact as the one you use here we can identify and coach the agent.

Regards,
