Fingerprint Sensor - what are user experiences?

2019-12-04, 14:48 PM

I got a Zoom in the recent Black Friday sale, but some of the reviews say the fingerprint sensor isn't great which is putting me off opening it and am thinking of selling it on. How are people finding it? Has there been any updates to improve it?

I have a Samsung A3 for work and the sensor is really poor and annoying, don't want problems on my personal phone.

In-screen fingerprint sensors are much slower than a dedicated button. But mine still only takes a second or two to detect a fingerprint.

Just add a lot of fingerprint profiles to ensure it always detects every angle properly.

I have a G7 Power not a Zoom, fingerprint works great so far - I've had the phone less than a week. It's instant - touch it and the phone is on. I have it set to detect either index finger.

If the tech is identical between the Zoom and the G7 I would assume you'd have the same experience.

Thanks, but this is an in screen fingerprint sensor which can be slower and more problematic, so not the same tech at all..

Does adding screen protection affect the speed?

I didnt feel much different to my old Motorola Z3 Play and other older Motorola Devices with "Hardware" Sensor. The Zoom is my Daily Driver.
Why you didnt test it? In my Country its ok to return it if you order it online. I think its ok in GB too. (you bought it on Amazon, or?)

Yes, I bought on Amazon. If I don't open it I'll be able to sell it for more than I paid for it, obviously the most if it is still sealed.

If you have one of these phones, that's not enirely true, you could help me by recounting your own experience with this phone, how it compares to other fingerprint sensors you've used, whether you have notived any lag - or not, whether any updates have come along that seem to have improved it.
