I still like this phone, regardless of "old" Android

2020-06-29, 22:29 PM
  • Oled screen that does will give information I need just by slightly moving the phone.
  • Flashlight that lights up with simple hand gesture instead of accessing top drawer.
  • Battery that lasts few days
  • 3.5mm headphone socket that doesn't have too much audible static.
  • 10x zoom that doesn't look like cheap crop out from native zoom jpeg.

These are all improvements over the previous Android One phone I had before this. I'm not sure how Android 10 could suddenly improve this phone so much, that I would be angry that it is taking so long to arrive. Security updates are still quite up to date and common sense is much more important security feature.

Or they could just give us Android 10 already, since it came out before the phone even released.

Perhaps Motorola's hardware partners have problems providing stable drivers.

I would like A10, after having it on the One Vision since February, particularly missing the system-wide dark theme. Especially since One Zoom has an OLED screen, those blacks would (should) look all that more blacker. Might even be tempted to give the A10 gesture controls another go. Tried them for about an hour on One Vision, then went back to one-button navigation.

Also, less expensive Moto stuff like G7 series (Power being the latest in EU) has gotten A10, seems only fair One Zoom should get it soon.
