Moto One Zoom....4G?

2021-06-09, 17:18 PM

I recently received an email from AT&T that said they will no longer support 3G networks after February 2022. They claim my Moto One Zoom does not support 4G so I will have to replace it.

When I purchased this phone, I had researched extensively and think I found information that it supports 4G bands. I have only had this phone since March 2, 2021 and do not relish purchasing another less than a year later just because AT&T has incorrect information.

I am told that I will need documentation of that fact to "persuade" AT&T to allow me to keep using it.

Does the Moto One Zoom support 4G and where can I find documentation?

I have exactly similar issue. When I bought this phone, I also saw the band.

Can some confirm that this model of moto one zoom supports 4g and if there is any link to some documentation about it.

I purchased mine in Nov 2020 and very surprised to see that it does not show 4g option in network setting.

I upgraded to Android 10 back in Nov. On some other thread on this forum g7 users are complaining similar issue stating that after android 10 update they are on 3g networks for Verizon.

Is there plan to release upgrade patch to fix this issue ?

In my network settings, when I disable my sim and later enable it, I see 4G which in a second switches to LTE

Re:AT&T: Device Not Compatible 2022

2021-06-10, 13:17 PM

I received the same message from AT&T.

I have motorola one zoom bought in Nov 2020 seeing it supports 4g.

As per At&t forum, motorola needs to certify the phone to use VoLTE over their network.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to waste a great phone and money.

@PCaprio and @kedv I apologize for the delay on this. Please send @MotoBecky a private message regarding this. She will be your best point of contact going forward for this situation.

Thanks,

The Moto One Zoom 100% supports 4G, at least on a hardware level.

My phone (UK model) connects on 4G most of the time.

Attached is a screenshot of my 4G connection.

I would check which bands AT&T uses for their 4G and check on GSMArena.

At&t has a list announced with phone models that will be supported on their network after Feb 2022. Motorola one zoom is not part of it.

Thankfully I was in warranty period so Motorola was gracious enough to replace mine with refurbished moto one 5G which seem to be working fine so far and also received 5G connections whenever possible. I am hoping with this phone I would be fine for next, at least, 3 more years.

Give them a call and see if they can resolve your matter.
