At&t has a list announced with phone models that will be supported on their network after Feb 2022. Motorola one zoom is not part of it.

Thankfully I was in warranty period so Motorola was gracious enough to replace mine with refurbished moto one 5G which seem to be working fine so far and also received 5G connections whenever possible. I am hoping with this phone I would be fine for next, at least, 3 more years.

Give them a call and see if they can resolve your matter.

How were you able to get a different model as a replacement? I'm having the same issue with my phone on Cricket Wireless, who said they will not support this model, and I was told by Motorola support that they won't replace the phone. They also said that they don't replace phones with different models. Essentially, my option is to factory reset the phone and see if that works (50/50 shot), see if it's compatible on another network and switch carriers, or buy a compatible phone.

I called them and they checked all the facts and as I mentioned I was in warranty period, so may be I was eligible for the replacement.

I didn't request anything special on the call.

Hi all, I'm outside the US so may have this wrong but carriers don't block phones or only accept certain models.

They will likely only list models they currently or have previously sold as "validated".

If your carrier uses a band which is compatible with the Zoom then it will work. Usually you can find information on which bands carriers use on Google or contact them directly.

The zoom 100% supports and works with 4G and LTE signals. It's just down to what bands the carrier uses.

If you have a "US" model it's very likely that it will work fine in 4G, no need to upgrade.

Personally I would do nothing, if you options are buy a phone because it might not work then it's better to wait for it to not work otherwise you've brought a phone for no reason.

Given the dreadful upgrade experience I would urge everyone to buy a phone that isn't Motorola...

@BimmerLad , I'm afraid the problem lays in VoLTE calls support. Carriers around the globe are planing to drop 3g calls in favor of VoLTE calls i.e. drop 3g calls and support only calls via data.

AT&T 5G, no more 3G

2021-07-21, 22:28 PM

AT&T is telling me that the moto one zoom will no longer work after February 2022 when they upgrade to 5G and end 3G support.  The zoom is a 4G LTE capable phone but they say it has to have HD voice.  Is this true?  Does it have HD voice?

With the att sim card my phone volte and wifi calling doesnt work.with TMobile sim card it enables the volte and wifi calling, its the carrier that doesnt want to activate that option, same happened with wife moto x4,so i root the x4 and now the volte is enable.so motorola can help us with this as a software update or we can root our phones ,or throw it to trash and get another company that stands behind thier product and customers

@PsyClip-R

I see, we (UK) don't have that issue yet, we even have carriers still running and supporting 2G networks!

Although my phone is 4G it's not supported on VoIP on any network so moving calls to VoIP would likely be an issue.

Many thanks for clearing it up and people in this situation should disregard my prior advice.
