Re:Moto One Zoom VOLTE and T-Mobile

2020-08-08, 23:54 PM

My Motorola One Zoom doesn't have the same menu Items. If I key-in the sequence to read out the Phone network

I can see VOLTE but cannot enable it as it is greyed out. I can receive calls now on T-Mobile using 3g, but T-mobile

is killing 3g at the start of 2021. My phone then will be a brick, unless Motorola enables VOLTE in the phone.

Qualcomm shows that the snapdragon 675 has twin VOLTE modems., so the hardware is there. I have a moto 4g and 6g

and they both support VOLTE

How is it possible that one person's Zoom supports VoLTE (previous page screenshot) and other ones don't??

I just received a Zoom and was about to open it, and then randomly saw online that it does not support VoLTE and will be a brick on T-Mobile starting in JAN 2021, if I could even activate it!!  **bleep**??? My old X4 that I am replacing even has it (need to replace after people suddenly have said they can't hear me clearly on it and the bluetooth no longer finds my speaker, whole other annoying story). How can they do this?? Unbelievable, looks like now I have to try to return this phone and get another one, after researching for like a week.

Just downloaded Android 10 and now VoLTE and wi-fi calling are enabled on the Zoom. Don't know why it took so long to get these services, but thanks Motorola!

I'm in the USA. My Zoom was bought on the Motorola website, and I use Mint Mobile. Android 10 took a while, but it made quite a few changes. For instance, you now have wi-fi calling and "audio effects" equalizer. You had to figure this change was coming since Motorola is still selling the Zoom with only three and a half months left before 3g (perhaps?) goes away.

In the US, just downloaded Android 10

Have wi calling in the dropdown curtain, haven't had a chance to check out any more.

Hopefully I can use this as a basic phone now LOL

Android 10 update brought me WiFi calling but no VoLTE option in the network settings. I'm with Metro by T-Mobile. Anyone know if this is a device issue still or if it's a carrier or sim card issue?

Happy to have WiFi calling but scared to own a brick in January if the rumors are true about VoLTE being the only way into TMobile network.

There's also no VoLTE option in network settings after my Android 10 update. However, if you go into the phone info screen at star pound star pound 4636 pound star pound star phone number (sorry, but symbols for star and pound don't seem to print on this page) the toggles for VoLTE and wi-fi calling that used to be greyed  in the off position are now greyed in the on position. If I make a call the LTE by the signal meter stays LTE, instead of going to 3g like it used to do. This is on Mint (who uses T-Mobile) and now I'm making VoLTE calls on my Zoom. I think that Motorola has placed VoLTE in a permanent on position rather than putting a switch in network settings.

Moto One Zoom here on AT&T. After the Android 10 update, I can see VoLTE Provisioned and Wifi Calling Provisioned, but both options are greyed out and looked to be on the Off position.

So my wife has a g7 power we bought right at metro and it specifically says 4g VoLTE when she has bars for it. Mine is provisioned now and greyed out in on position, but I still only see LTE. Here's hoping that's enough to get into the next generation of networks lol.
