Motorola One Zoom FM Radio interference

2020-01-17, 21:02 PM

UK region, if i have 4g enabled I get a "pulsing" interference whilst listening to the FM radio which makes it unusable.

The interference disappears completely when switching to 3G.

Disappointing really because having the radio was a priority when choosing a phone.

Hi Terrybull,

I'd like to see if I can duplicate this. Can this be heard while on speaker mode? If you can share a sample video of what's happening and how it sounds like, that would be very helpful. Also, do you hear the sound whichever station you're on? Let me know. Thanks.

Best regards,
Rich

Here's a few things to try.

Do  search on how to reset your Network settings but make sure you write down your WiFi logins as they will get wiped and then restart the phone.

Swtich off the Automatic Scan for Networks in the Network section and do a Manual scan. Pick a WRONG Network and let it fail. Then pick the correct one. Then press and hold the Power button until the phone restarts. This emulates taking the Battery out and can clear clogged Ram.

HTH :)

Hi.

You also may want to simply try a different set of earbuds in case it's a grounding issue.

Apologies for the delay in responding.

Further investigation shows that it is really only on a particular station, namely 94.8fm.

I've taken an audio recording using the built-in function:

First 10 seconds are with 4g enabled, then I switch to 3g (the same occurs if I simply enable airplane mode).

And it's both in speaker mode and headphone.
