Re:The One Zoom will be my last Motorola/Lenovo device

2020-06-09, 21:02 PM

Matt is MIA... I hope he's alright.

About iOS... I made the switch to the iPhone SE and I do not regret it. I miss the home screen experience of Android (especially the ability to customize your app launcher), but once you're in an app, iOS delivers a very good experience. And it always has the latest iOS version and security features, so that's a plus. :P

One Week over and still nothing.

Device Security is red and still no Android 10.

429$ for nothing.

The 150$ G7 Device still has Android 10 + Security Level is green.

But announce one new device after device.....

I don't think it's hard.. I just think the Moto One Zoom is another one of their "Forgotten" phones they no longer care about because it didn't sell to their expectations.

Hi.

Appreciate the feedback, as hard as it is to read. We need to hear it.

If your phone is still on March or earlier software, please let me know, provide your current build number (Settings > System > About phone > scroll to the bottom) and make sure your profile is up to date.

  • Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate.
  • Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well.
  • Let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.
  • Need help updating your profile? See here. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Complete-your-forums-profile/td-p/3339943

Thanks, and my apologies.

Hi.

March is the latest for the Zoom. So if you are earlier than March, please let me know.

As I have posted elsewhere, the testing of the software is the final step. Delays are often due to the software failing to fulfill some necessary standard. Based on my inquiries, that's what has happened here. We had hoped to have the May update out by now, but the software is held up. Apologies for the delay.

Please remember to follow all site rules if you want to post here. It's easy to be civil when things are going smoothly. The rules are there for when things are a little rough.

Regards,

-Matt

Ok Matt, this one makes sense. TL; DR; need to wait some more...

TL; DR Customers: Hey, Motorola, we’ve been waiting for too long. Motorola: Ok, have a seat, we’ll look into that. Customers: *Wait some more* Motorola: We found out what happened: There’s a delay. Please wait. It’s almost comical, guys. I’d be laughing if I hadn’t spent 400 bucks on my Zoom.

What exactly is happening with updates for One Zoom, Matt?

Saying "sorry for delay" should be embarassing to you. This is not what One Zoom users deserved.

Silence is better [removed]

Say some real, specific stuff or don't say anything. Saying "sorry for delay" for the phone that has the same soc, the same hardware, the same dimensions, the same radio that Z4 has (which got Android 10 two months ago!) it's a lie and you know bout it.

YOU CAN SAY EXACT REASON TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, NO JUST "SORRY FOR DELAY"! We all will understand this! Just be honest with us!
