Who is using Android 10 gesture navigation?

2020-09-15, 19:52 PM

Earlier in the year, when I was using the One Vision and it got the A10 update, I gave the gesture navigation a go, but couldn't really get it to work in a way that felt nice. Not sure why, but fairly quickly went back to the one button navigation I had been using since I got it. One Zoom got the A10 update today, so gave the gesture nav another go and for some reason, it seems to be working better on One Zoom. Not sure if it is the slightly wider screen or what, but at least for now, I'm going to stick with the gesture nav.

I agree. I also had an One Vision with A10 and the gesture navigation wasn't really usable and as far as I remember the back gesture was only working on the left part of the screen. Anyway, I must motive that A10 on the Zoom is better than the Vision - it has a lot of personalisation - the back led, the new themes, better gestures. And HDR support. Well done Motorola for this. I've decided to keep my Zoom in the family.

Just got the A10 update and not only is gesture navigation broken if using anything but the default home app/launcher, but one button navigation which I was used to before is also now non functional. Currently cannot switch apps at all without reverting from my preferred launcher which I need for accessibility reasons.

Customer support is unresponsive and considering the pace Lenovo/Motorola push out updates, this will likely be an issue for months. If the pandemic hadn't wrecked our finances, I'd be shopping for a new phone right now.

Any way to revert to the previous Android version?

It seems like a nice feature at first but it gets annoying fast when you start making accidental gestures all over the place.

So the One Button is gone in A10? Matt telling in a other Post it happens only on new Devices with A10 on it. On older Devices it would work. (on my G7 from A9 to A10 the one Button is still there).

No, you can still use One Button, at least I can swap back to it in the settings (-> System -> Gestures). Was just curious if anyone else had made the switch. For me, going on day 2, Gesture nav is working solid, not even finding myself feeling like have to go back to One Button.

Great news! I Hate to see the one button Moto Action is missing on my Motorola Edge. (not motorola fault, google didnt want other solutions in A10+) It didnt work well with Nova Launcher (Android 10 Bug) too. So its great to have the one button gesture if A10 hits my Zoom in the next 10 years....

Is there a specific app that's giving you the message? I tried with a couple of apps and could go back and forth between them swiping left or right.

Same Problem here. Seems it didnt work any more while using a third party launcher like nova launcher... With A9 it wasnt a Problem
