Lenovo P50 Wont Show SD Card in Explorer

2017-11-25, 10:09 AM

Hello. For some time now, i face a probem with the SD card reader of lenovo p50. When i insert an sd card, I hear the windows sound of a newly inserted device, but on the explorer i see nothing.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver, to download the latest driver but none of these helped.

On device manager, when I insert a sd card, I see new devices appear in two categories:
Under Disk Drives: USB Mass Storage USB device

Memory Technology Devices: Realteck PCIE Card Reader.

If I remove the SD card, both of those entries disappear.

With the SD card inserted, right-click Start >> Disk Management) and see how the SD card is listed.    It should show as a Removable Disk with an assigned drive letter, and formatted as Fat32 with a Healthy (Primary Partition).

How is your SD card listed?

wow! You nailed it! Indeed, there was the problem. There was no letter assigned to the device. I manually assigned a letter and now the SD Card displays properly. Thank you very much!
