Betreff: Disk Partitioning and OneKey Recovery Feature

2011-12-14, 7:52 AM
It doesn't take 2 hours to burn the factory backup. It takes that long to restore the backup to a 4200 rpm hard disk. The reported speed of install varies during the resotre from 33mb/minute to 153 mb/minute. the optical drive is constantly speeding up and slowing down. the system has 8GB of memory. I think what is happening is that the optical disk is transferring a large chunk of data at a high speed to internal memory, then the optical disk goes almost to steep while the transfer to hard disk happens. Then the optical disk has to be started from no activity to fast transfer. I can hear the constant change noise from the optical disc; almost silent for 15 seconds to extremely loud for about 5 seconds.

Is there a way to make an optical or USB disk that will boot to the recovery environment? I could then load a USB backup image.

If I have a backup on the USB disc, the recovery takes only about 10 minutes.

The optical drive on my g575 is AD-7710H

one key recover doesn't support such as these functions but you can use third party applications to backup your current disk into the usb. ( windows backup )

I do not need help in what program to use for backup. I need help in how to get a restore method for the factory load that will use USB boot media. No optical disc. For example is there a method to put the two recovery DVDs from OKR on a USB drive and boot from it? I want to make fresh image on replacement hard disk after I change hard disk without waiting for optical disk recovey time. Also burned optical disk will go bad over time.

as i said, one key recover doesn't support such as these functions, so usb option won't work.

Lenovo G570 / Windows 7 Black screen of death / Recovery key not working

2011-12-17, 16:14 PM

Hi all, UK here, new to the forum.

My 3 month old Lenovo G570 has the 'black screen of death' (Windows 7).

Having tried all methods to solve the problem including tapping shift keys, system restore, safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt etc. etc. etc. - nothing is working.

I then tried the recovery key and it simply boots up with a leaf/grass desktop background and the cursor on screen.

I need a solution!!

Ideally I'd like to solve the problem myself rather than sending it back to PC World/Lenovo which I imagine will take its time.

Thank you in advance for any help!

un-plug the ac adapter, remove the battery, press power button for 30-40 seconds, replace the battery and try to use okr button again.

Ok...just so this is right...

I unplugged the adapter from the laptop.
I then removed the battery

I held the power button down for a good minute.

I replaced the battery

I plugged the adapter back into the laptop.

Unfortunately, I have the same screen with just the cursor.

I bought it from PC World (UK). I didn't get any discs, just the laptop.

Changes on volumes? Sorry, please explain. Thanks
