Peak display works for awhile after factory reset, then stopped working after a few days.  Moto X4.  Really want this feature back, it's why I purchased this phone.

Thank you for your response. It makes me glad that I didn't do the factory reset to only have it stop working again. Whew!

Hello, and thanks for sharing this feedback. So you're on the Moto X4 and not the razr is that correct? Do you recall taking any updates or installing any new apps right before it stopped working again? It seems odd that it would work for a few days and then suddenly stop working.

Hello Tom,. I'm willing to factory reset my Moto X4 again, turn auto updates off, install apps on at a time.   Checking Approach to Wake between each new app install. 

 

Anything more I should consider before doing the factory reset?

Hello Tom,

 

I believe I've found the problem.

 

When I update Moto Display, version 06.331.3, Approach to Wake fails.  When I delete Moto Display, I'm left with Moto Actions and Gestures, v. 06.29.1.05-p.  Approach to Wake returns, without the animation background.  I've been able to duplicate this.

Thanks Leo! I appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot and reproduce this issue!! I thought it was related to the upgrade also. I was sure it was when the animated time/screensaver appeared that the peek stopped working. You and Tom are both awesome! I'm so happy to have such great people working on this issue. :) It's also great to have my peek back on. :)
