how to permanent hange boot order of H430-57310096 Desktop PC

2013-02-11, 6:01 AM

I purchased Lenovo H430-57310096 Desktop PC today and installed a SSD as the second hard drive on which  Windows 7 was installed.

Booting from the SSD with windows 7 first is desired. The current condition is that lenovo is first booted from Windows 8.

I know that key F12 could select the priority at one time. But I would know whether there is a permanent solution?

Although a thread (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Valueline/Booting-up-from-the-optical-drive-on-a-Lenovo-H430/m-p/936331#M3897) existed about it, it is still unclear how to setup the priority boot order.

Any help?  TIA

hi l123,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

If you have a pre-installed Windows 8 on your Lenovo H430 and you want to upgrade the stock HDD to SSD, you will need to disable OS Optimized Defaults first under the Exit Tab on the BIOS then disable CSM (if applicable), Secure Boot (if applicable) and UEFI under Startup Tab. After that, you can change the Primary Boot Sequence to your SSD drive under the startup tab..

After modifying the BIOS, try to install Windows 7 on the SSD.

Hope this helps.
