x240 issues shutting down

2013-12-27, 6:42 AM

Hi, i need help. Recently purchased 2 Lenovo x240 for my customer. Cloned entire Harddisk to new SSD. Done hardware test with all pass.

Laptop comes preinstalled with Windows 7 professional

Upgraded RAM to 8GB

Upgraded Harddisk to Samsung EVO 250GB

Everthing works fine even windows update until shutting down the unit for deployment. System pause or hang at thinkpad wallpaper with no icons and before displaying shutting down windows.

Anyone face the same problem here?

Does the system have fingerprint?

If so, please see if this info helps.

Thank you for your help. Yes this solve the issue.

Apparent this issue appears after a full windows update.

Running Lenovo ThinkVantage tools and updating all programs and drivers in Update and Drivers category solves the issue.

Hi,

I have this problem as well. When I click on the link you've provided, it says: Sorry, this document is restricted to Lenovo Field Servicers and/or Call Center Agents only. Please login with the authorized credentials. Thank you.

Can you tell me what the fix is please.

Cheers,

For me it was a case of opening Lenovo Thnk and running all updates which also updated the BIOS too. Since then it has worked perfectly for our client.

I am more worried as to why this has had to be done bearing in mind that it is a brand new machine so should have been all up to date.

Thanks for the prompt reply garyhawes,

I ended up removing the fingerprint drivers and it's now working. This is a brand spanking new machine so it's frustrating. Out of interest, do you normally apply all Lenovo updates before you handover to a customer?
