I think I broke my Dragon Assistant...

Not a huge problem, but I still want to fix it...

So I tried Dragon Assistant out for the first time yesterday, and I updated it from 1.5 to 3 since it told me to, and I was like why not...

It was still working fine after the update, but after updating it, I started to tinker with my PC (Lenovo Flex 14) to try to fix the Wifi and Bluetooth issues that I had. After installing a new driver for Intel Bluetooth (3.1.1309 to 3.1.1311), Bluetooth stopped working completely...

So I tried a system restore to fix my bluetooth driver (I don't know why I did that...big mistake) and I restored it to the time right before I updated Dragon to version 3.

After doing that, I noticed that Dragon stopped working...not even the uninstaller (missing unins000.msg). So since my bluetooth didn't get fixed after my system restore...I decided to undo the restore.

So, yeah a long story, but now I need help. Now when I try to open Dragon, it says there was an error reading the language pack and that I need to reinstall it, but I don't know how...

Can anyone help me?

For anyone that had trouble updating the Dragon Assistant, or if you lost the program outright with the upgrade to Windows 8.1, here is the link to the latest version (1.1.19) of the Dragon Assistant Core: http://dragonassistantcontent.nuance.com/release-1.1.1/1.1.19/Dragon%20Assistant%20Core%201.1.19.exe


Download the latest version (1.5.17) of the program application here: http://dragonassistantcontent.nuance.com/release-1.1.1/1.5.17/Dragon%20Assistant%20Application%20Upd...


In order for the update to install, you have to delete any prior versions of the application.  If none of this works and you want to be adventurous, you can download a complete program install with the following 762MB file (note: it "may" be vendor specific to Dell, but the worst that can happen is it won't install): http://dragonassistantcontent.nuance.com/installer-dell/da_1.5.0_en-US_Dell.exe

Unfortunately, after I download the Core, I'm stuck.  I'm unable to dowload the 1.5.17 until I load the data language.  When I google the data language and try to download, I have to download unneeded software instead.  Where is a safe link located for the data language only?  Couldn't even find it on the Lenovo or Dragon Assistant site. 


I am really not a happy camper...in fact, I'm getting more ticked off by the minute because of this whole mess.


The link for Dell is specific for Dell, so if you don't have one, don't waste your time.

I downloaded and tried installing the Dragon Assistant for Dell from the link provided by burtw... but couldnt install it as got a message stating that the software can be installed only on a Dell machine. Does anyone know the link to download it for Thinkpad X1 Carbon (2014 Generation)?

Run the installer in XP compatibility.
