Yoga pro 2 touchpad not working

2014-02-21, 23:23 PM

Hey guys,

I have recieved my yoga 2 pro today. Unfortunately, my yoga 2 pro's touchpad isn't working at all. I have reinstalled the driver found in this website, checked for updates, spent my entire evening trying to figure out why my touch pad isn't working, with absolute no luck at all!

I am very dissapointed and frustrated  with lenovo atm as it was a very expensive product.

I am not very good at computers so please use simple language if possible.

thankyou very much!! you guys are my last resort. really dont want to send the laptop back!!

Try this driver made by dell: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/az/en/azdhs1/driverdetails?driverid=CKT2J

Have you tried the key combination on the keyboard to get it working?

Fn+F6

Also check 'Device Manager' to see if it's detected.

Kind regards,

I have tried fn and f6, it doesn't seeme to work.

i cannot actually find anything for mice and touchpad unless i plug a mice in.

There is synaptics smbus driver under system device and that's about it. If I go under properties, it says the device is working properley.

I downloaded the dell version of synaptics and it still hasn't worked.

Could be that the laptop sensor thinks you are in tablet mode.... Try going from laptop to tablet to laptop again.

Did this problem get solved? I have been having the same problem out of the box until tonight! I came onto the Forum to find a solution, but ended up stumbling accross a solution.

1. Open Synaptics Pointing Device, either from the hidden icons menu on bottom right menu bar, or from control panel

2. Select 'Device Settings' Tab

3. Select 'Properites'

4. Under the 'One Finger' Tab you can select the 'Tap' box and switch on the Tap function

Thanks for the tips, it works for me.

Anyhow, I remembered for not disabling the tapping but somehow it was unchecked.

How can it get disable on its own? That's so puzzling.

Had the same problem. Not working at all on arrival. Seemed like the trackpad wasnt isnatlled at all. No resposne what so ever after reinstalling drivers, enabling, disableing etc..Last resort, open the sucker upp an found  a contact, (d25) where the little "flip" on the motherboard was not pressed down on the cable leading to the trackpad. Leaving the cable detached from its socket. After fixing that little problem, the trackpad and the red "trackpoint" worked like a charm.

So thats my tip to you. Check the cables.

Dont know if this does something to the warranty...Be carefull, and you should be fine.

Cheerio:-)
