Battery problem A3000, charge to 99%, decrease to 15% in a matter of minutes

2014-02-03, 12:43 PM

Hi there.

My IdeaTab A3000 has a battery problem. It charges quickly (in 10 mins or so) to 99% then when I unplug it, it would decrease by 2% per minute (while the wifi/3g/bluetooth/ auto rotate is switched off). Then it stops at 15%. This is very troublesome because it worked fine yesterday. I bought the tablet about 2 weeks ago, and the battery life was great until today.

What can I do?

Thanx

Thank you for the reply. I think I might have fixed it for now.

I did the following, and now the battery works fine again:

Firstly I drained the battery, it took a couple of hours because it was stuck on 15%, but after a while it just turned off. So I guess it was completely drained.

Then I kept it off and charged it, it only charged until 99% but this time it took much longer than 10 minutes, which gave me hope. I turned it on, and the battery problem was gone. It works perfectly now.

Maybe by doing those steps it resettled the battery or something.

Thanx a lot

Hi there, you drain the battery. I thought the battery was screw to the body. Is it OK to do it? It would affect the warranty or not?

I think something is lost in translation.  To "drain the battery" means to run it down until the tablets shuts off, not it remove it.

As for your issue with it only charging to 99%, sometimes the battery stats aren't quite right causing the percentage to be off.  Try running it down all way until it shuts off, then charging it fully.  Do this a couple times and that should improve the battery stats and give you a more accurate %.
