Lenovo 110-15IBR Ram upgrade

I bought my Lenovo laptop (MTM: 80T7005QSA) and have been quite happy with it until recently. The laptop has decreased in performance drastically and from my understanding it has to be due to the ram being so small. I would like to upgrade the ram and performance of the laptop however upon looking for the ram slot I can't seem to find one. How do I upgrade my Ram on my Lenovo laptop?

Re:Lenovo 110-15IBR Ram upgrade

Hi J.LaBeouf,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Model 80T7005QSA 110-15IBR is non ram upgradable.

As it shows on the board, the current 2GB ram is soldered on-board similarly mentioned in the hardware manual (page 26).

DDR3L-1600 MHz, On board (max 8 GB) (Lenovo ideapad 110-14IBR/Lenovo ideapad 110-15IBR)

No available slot to add additional ram.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re:Lenovo 110-15IBR Ram upgrade

Is there a way to get the onboard ram unsoldered and have a bigger Ram soldered in place of it? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm just looking at the best way forward in terms of Optimal performance.

Re:Lenovo 110-15IBR Ram upgrade

Hi J.LaBeouf,

Greetings.

It maybe possible but sure is very challenging and we cannot guarantee functionality.

Such board soldering are machine controlled so shops that perform de-balling of chips would similarly have expensive controlled setup.

Economically this is not a good option since the price for de-balling service maybe more than what the laptop is worth and have a big risk on damaging the board.

Regards
