Touchpad Freezes Always

Hello.

It's very, very strange that the touchpad stops working every time on my laptop (ThinkPad T460s). Neither the left nor the right, no button, and the touchpad itself refuse to work. At first I thought it was a hardware issue, where I was going to buy a new one, but after each computer sleep mode (or when closing or opening the lid), it (the touchpad) starts working again as if nothing had happened. The drivers are all fresh (Synaptics ClickPad V 1.2 19.3.4.228). I cleaned the touchpad's plumes under the battery, nothing helps. Here I am writing this and the touchpad stopped working twice.

 

Could you please help with this?

Have you tried uninstalling the touchpad driver and restarted the computer for the driver to reinstall itself? How about installing the BIOS update? If not yet, you can install it from this link: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ph/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t460s/downloads/driver-list/component?name=BIOS%2FUEFI

 


If the issue is still present, kindly send us a screenshot of the OS version and BIOS version under the system information?

Yesterday I had already updated BIOS version.

 

Please find the attached screenshot which contains OS version and BIOS version of my laptop.
